Newly bought CRX dx won't start
so i finally bought a 1990 crx dx, woot woot! the only problem is that it won't start. the guy i bought it from said that car just wouldn't start one day when he was going to work(the car ran perfect before then). he didn't feel like dumping money into it so he sold it to me for cheap.
i tried to start it in his driveway but the car wouldn't even crank over. i tried to see any electrical parts like the radio or headlights turned on but nothing. i'm hoping its just a dead battery. does anybody have any other suggestions beside the following list:
battery/battery terminals?
alternator?
timing belt?
main relay?
ignition coil?
distributor?
any spark?
ground wires? any specific wires i should look out for?
fuel pump/fuel filter/injectors?
anything else i might be missing?
monday's my day off so hopefully i can get it started.

Try all that you have mentioned, make sure you start with the simplest and smallest things first so that you wont have to spend $$$ on needless parts and labor..etc. Good luck, and later on do a b18c1 swap! Party on!
heres an update: the car runs. oil was leaking into 2 of the spark plugs so we just bought new spark plugs, spark plug grommets, seals, and a valve cover gasket. the thing started after a few cranks.
btw, the idiots before me had put the battery in backwards, blowing fuses- we blow one fuse and then realize the battery was probably in reverse.
only one problem: ecu is throwing a code 16- i think its a fuel injector problem. anybody have any suggestions

Don't bother fixing that code on a DPFI civic/crx. just convert it to MPFI.
