in the 1990 owners manual a blinking S light means somethings wrong with the transmission... atleast thats what it says there.

I had sort of the same problem a couple months back. My "S" start blinking also, then I noticed my speedometer not working no more. It was the speed sensor, I got that fixed, and now everything is good!!!! Hope this helps.

I think the speed sensor was around $150, but I don't remember. And I had my dads friend, which is a mechanic, fix it, and he did it for free. Took about 10 minutes. Honda said it would take around 2 hours!!!!

if you s is blinking and you can't start the car that means you ECU fuse is out.
