Before the flames, the sticker and the white wipers are gone. And I know the rims aren't the nicest looking, I have 2000 si rims, but these rims are smaller and weigh a lot less. So what color should I paint them. I was thinking of painting them either gunmetal or black, but I can't decide. Also do you guys think I should polish the lip or just paint it the same color as I paint the rim, also if I paint them black do you guys think I should make them glossy, or just keep them flat looking ?

 

Appearence Forum obviously, buuttt.....I say black, I painted mine black about 1 1/2 years ago and aside from curbage and a tiny amount of chippin they still look fine.

Couple cans of Aircraft Remover, Black (flat) engine paint and several coats of the wheel clear coat aerosol they sell at Autozone, pepboys, etc....

I used the Aircraft remover becuase my 96 GSR's (special editions in my case) had a silver coating, it removed it great. But in your case you may just want to clean em off good and maybe sand it with some 200 or 300 grit sandpaper just to roughen up the surface a tad so the paint will have some crevices to stick to.

 

bronze would look good

 

i would go with gunmetal, black to me looks to plain. polished lip? i would, only if you have other chrome on the car to match, ie...emblems.
if the emblems are shaved, then the lip has nothing to go with, therefore it would look out of place.
IMO, i would paint the taillights all red, plz paint over the amber/orange part. and drop that biatch

 

Yeah I posted this in the appearance forum before but I did not get a lot of ideas, so I thought I would post it here. When you painted yours black and were done, what did the surface look like ? Glossy or flat ?

hmm, your the first person to recommend that. Anyone good at photo shop and care to take a try at painting them ? Oh I also forgot, the center caps will be off.

Nice.

 

I'm not liking that look, looks to much like chocolate not bronze. If I paint them black and take the center caps off, some people said they would kind of look like rotas. I could leave them that color but a lot of people tell me they look so bad, I actually don't think they look that bad.

 

Anyone else ?
