Default Quicker D15b2

Hey guys, i'm going to school later on this yr and want to get an EF civic dx for transportation ( yea craig ***** changed, what else is new, ehh, thats life for ya ). I would like to know some tips on making it faster. I've done some research and came up with the MPFI swap w/ a6 head and valvetrain, I/H/E ( 2.25 or 2.5 ? ) for starters.

Now i'm just looking for a lil quick daily driver with some fun on the weekends. Low 15's ( high 14's if possible ) is the goal, so plz no JUST GET A SWAP or FI posts as i do not have the funds for a swap ( unless there's a swap that can get me what i want for pretty cheap ) nor FI engine building.

I would like to know if these mods alone are good enough or what exactly would be needed to get my goals. The only mods i plan on doing is suspension and engine, and plan on spending around 2500-3k for everything ( excluding the car of course ).

Thanks Guys !

after spending all the money on the mpfi swap/a6 head/bolt ons.. you could easily afford to swap in a DOHC ZC and that'd most likely net you mid to low 15s in itself. Some people are able to hit 14s with just I/E with the ZC.

you will need nitrous to make the d15 run in the 14's. the mpfi swap and bolt ons your talking about could make your car run low 16's and high 15's if your a very good driver and feeling lucky that day.

Yeah come on man, remember that low 16's for a D15 is pretty damn near impossible if you're A.) Not going FI B.) Planning on keeping the DX tranny C.) Planning on spending $2,500K.

Now, people are gonna come on here and say, 'Yo dawg, I ran a 13.5 with my stock B16 so you should be in the low 15 range with a few bolt-ons with your D15. '

I mean, I/H/E MPFI and Si tranny is probably only gonna net you low 16's on a good day. Why not drop a B16 in there for your $2,5K and then as you come up with money you can go I/H/E. Then you'll be high 14's

That's what I did.

Oh wait, you don't have the car yet? Buy an Si!!! Why would you go DX? 'Cuz it's cheaper? But you'll waste the money you saved just to do MPFI swap and Si tranny, plus you'll still be 1.5L as opposed to 1.6L!

Cheaper and lower payment for insurance ( it'll be in my name and i'm 19 living in NY ). Ahh well, if i can't make that happen ( just hoping anyway ) i'll just get the mpfi and leave the **** alone lol. It's a commute car anyway, might as well be slow until i finish school.

Let me tell you about engine swaps, your reliability goes down the *******. Before my B2 blew I had 207,000 miles on it and the car never gave me any trouble. After it blew I put in a ZC and it's been one thing after another, always needing something tuned or fixed. It's been dead for weeks now.
