VTEC controller vs OBD1 conversion?
I was just talking to this guy, he said that an OBD0 to OBD1 conversion is impossible
- He was telling me that the only way to do this was by using a vtec controller and the Si ECU... what exactly would be the advantages and disadvantages of this? I want to get the JDM D15 over the ZC because of age, and gotta have the VTEC POWER!

my 89 hatch is obd1 and i felt a decent amount of power after i did the conversion! if you want to tune your car with an hondata its the only way to go! it has alot of benefits.
go obd1
its a better system. plus P28 ecus are abundant, and chipping is easy
email me for more info.
btw. auto manual conversion is the same at the ECU side. its the linkage/pedals that you have to mess with

no real tuning is gonna be done, but I don't really understand how the controller works... it's just gonna be a daily driven car, hopefully with a lot more power than my D15 I have now...
Vtec controller = figure out where vtec point needs to be, need to adjust timing and fuel curves to configure the Si ecu for its transition into vtec range
OBd1 conversion with P28 = plug in. All vtec, fuel, and timing maps are set.
Also, you may want to look into the ZC swap depending on price difference in the two motors. Every Zc swap that I have done in an EF has netted on a stock swap 15.3 - 14.9 on street tires. Not bad for a pretty cheap swap.
