Default b16= no spark=no start???

im helpin out a friend...hes got a jdmb16 2nd gen (obd1) we cant get it to start...its wired correct but it doesnt start...we used my distributor so we know thats not the problem now....what else can it be??? there are a couple wires in the back of the block by the fuel filter that dont have a destination. we dont know if they are because the motor is obd1...you know what these wires do and if so are they needed to make the car start...2 of the wires have a big rubber boot around them and the other is a very small clip. someone please help out we wanna get this **** running...peace

Check all the grounds!! That was my problem, i forgot to hook up my thermostat ground. I had no spark or anything.

You said there is a wire with a rubber boot on the end of it.... that sounds like it could be a ground wire... Very important!! Find out what it is....

if thier is 2 plugs in one boot its the fan switch and if it is the single plug in a boot its the oil pressure sending unit plug you may need to change the coil inside the dizzy they go out often

I thought the 2nd gen b16 was obd2? Also, is the timing correct? Perhaps you are off

you used a known good distributor so you know that's not the problem. The only things that it could be is your wiring to the ECU or the grounds.
