Default Clutch Kit & Flywheel (recommendations)

I glazed my clutch this weekend. The question I have is about aftermarket replacements. Can anyone recommend a good replacement clutch? I am thinking of purchasing a lighter flywheel while I am at it
I also want to be able to drive the car around the city without the "chatter" of a puck! So I guess I want something that holds well, but doesn't chatter. Is that asking too much?

I am currently running the stock engine on my Type R.

Either get the complete TODA clutch kit or the TODA flywheel combined with an Exedy clutch & pressure plate.

Spoon or Toda flywheel/clutch combo. Both are nice.

OEM ITR clutch w/ Comptech flywheel. Works great for me.

Or if your motor hits higher than like 190 at the wheels, go for a Clutchmaster Stage 1. That's an awesome clutch. Feels good and hits hard.

Thanks for the recommendations...it looks like I am going to go with the Toda flywheel and the ACT clutch kit. I appreciate all of your input!

Hopefully this setup will grab hard and last for a little while

I will recommend the Spoon kit.

Spoon clutches are manufactured by Dakin same to Honda and Mugen. Spoon offers 30% more grip over stock and stock pedal feel. Spoon flywheel is made of of high grade chromoly steel and the balancing was done very well. The flywheel weighs 4.2kg little more then Toda but the reasons why Spoon didn't drill any holes on the flywheel cos to prevent warpage against extreme heat and to increase stability of it.

Plus it's cheaper too.

I'd definatly say Spoon clutch, pp and flywheel.
I run them and am happy with the setup.
Rev's very quick and has good grip without the chatter.

I've tried Clutchbastards and ACT as well as Exedy and Spoon. Definately like the Toda above all others by far. Feels great and just the right weight on the pedal.

Just FYI, even the 2002 Integra Type-R STOCK flywheel has holes on the outer edges just like the TODA. So having holes on the outside does not cause warpage, please stop spreading bull **** to sell your spoon products. Who makes the Spoon cam gears anyway? Toda right?

How does "stability" factor into this anyway? we're not talking about aircraft wings here.

Spoon camgears are NOT made by Toda but you can call it same manufacturer.

I am not sure if the holes are for cooling or against warpage but the holes on the ITR flywheel is like 3-5mm big compare to Toda's 25-30mm, are you usure what you are talking about???

If my opinion really makes you feel bad or upset, I would say sorry to you but all other ppl shouldn't post their opinion too cuz everybody should worried to make other ppl upset rite???

It is a fact that TODA makes spoon cam gears. Ask anyone who knows their stuff about Japan made products. From a business prespective, why do TODA gears cost like $290 while Spoons are $400? because Spoon has to buy them from TODA and mark them up to make a good margin. But since TODA makes them, they can offer it at a lower price. If they were the same manufacturer as you foolishly think, why would Spoons cost so much more?

Oh I'm very sure about what I'm talking about son. You're the one talking about cooling and warpage in a flywheel. The holes are placed on the outside to change the rotating mass characteristics of the flywheel.

I know you guys up in Canada are big Spoon fans, but lets get real here. Who besides Spoon uses Spoon engines in PROFESSIONAL racing series?

TO AJ PWR:

I wasn't trying be a *****, it's just that (as you already know) a lot of false info goes around the web and most beginners who do searches in these archives will take the false info to be true. No hard feelings
