Which throttle body and intake manifold should I go with?

Default Which throttle body and intake manifold should I go with?

I am building a N/A B16 for my 91 HB and was wondering on which throttle body and intake manifold to go with. I was thinking of useing the skunk intake manifold and the STR throttle body. If you have any advice or have had problems with these please let me know.

im not a big vtec man so i have to ask.. what is the advantage to using a ITR manifold over aftermarket and also whats kind of gains are proven by using ITR cams in a b16? sorry to jack your thread but im curious.

The ITR had a well ported intake manifold that was port matched to it's Throttle body allowing for a greater flow over a stock b16. The ITR Camshafts have MUCH more agressive vtec lobes than the b16 camshafts allowing for greater power up top, also allowing one to rev higher.

ITR mani and throttle As for the cams if you want to stay oem get the CTR's.

so you guys are saying that for starters OEM is a decent upgrade, but with bigger cams, pistons, etc, then what throttle body to use?

All your suggestions were good but i should have filled you in more. The head was built with skunk stage 2 cams with oversised vales springs and retainers. and i bored the block and am runing 12 to 1 comp with a 10 rpm redline. so now my question is do you think i should use the itr or ctr parts or go with what i origanaly suggested?

what makes you think that you cant use oversised valves with stage 2 cams?

on the skunk site it says on stage 2-4, "don't use with oversized valves."

i mean i figure they'd know.

the only thing i could think of is that they would hit the piston but i clayed my motor and had to cut the springs so the wouldnt open fulley
