Well I flew out to PA on friday to pick it up and had the pleasure of driving it back 1200 miles to south florida. Let me just say one thing, wow, I owned a GSR before this and I now know why you guys love this car so much, what a difference. The drive kinda sucked, 19 hours of hell. The first 200 miles took me 5 hours thanks to the president crusing around DC and a semi reck on 95 closing it down for 2 hours. Here are some pictures of the car at the dealer:









Then once I got home, I decided to remove a few things, I think it looks 10x better this way, no spoiler or stickers. The emblems will be removed soon also.

hey whats up, nice car!!! I am in the same boat you were in, I live in texas, and have a good deal on a car in NJ, but dont want to spend the money on a plane ticket to get out their and find it is not what I wanted, it sounds perfect, but the guy hasn't sent me any pics, and I am not sure. How did you go through with your deal, and do you know of any other ITR's for sale that you might have passed up on your quest.

That car looks exactly like mine... no wing, no sticker and no red "A" emblems (well, it will be right?). Hey if you're going for a sleeper look, IM me. I'll tell you the rims that I got is total sleeper look (which hides the 5-lugs). And, I have a few other ideas (which you already thought about.) BTW, did you already plugs the holes on the hatch?

 

Unfortunately, I have to go to Miami tonight so I dont think I'll be making it out there. Where do they meet out in Boca?

I dont want to go total sleeper. The reason I took the stuff off was for stupid people doing stupid things to the car. The last thing I want to do is come out and see someone was so nice as to remove the emblems for me with a screw driver. As for the stickers, I just did not like that at all, and the wing was just in the way. I could never tell if the car behind me was a cop because the wing was just at the level where the lights would be on the top of the car. Also does anybody notice that everybody elses lights are bright as hell? The drive back from PA, almost every car I past looked like it had its brights on.

americanmuscle-japanrice: I was dealing with a dealer in this case. I talk to someone on the list here that lived up there and saw the car so I decided to go for it. The dealer sent me all the paper work and everything the week before, so when I got out there, I had to sign a few more papers and write him a check. The ticket out there was only 170 bux so it was not bad (I did buy two, even though no one ended going with me). As for driving it back, it kinda sucked, I would seriously consider paying to ship it if I had to do it again by myself. It's just I did not want to fork out 900 to ship it (1300 for closed trailer).

AssPenny - I ordered my R from Kansas earlier this year. I live in Ohio. I made them deliver it to ME They also took my '96 LS sight unseen as a trade-in

 

441 and glades? at the best buy there...if the cops break it up (they usually do) then on Wiles and 441 in CS...that's where it was last week...it goes on every week

 

Well Pompano Acura would not ship the car for free. They said I could come in, buy the car and pay for everything then have the car shipped through them. That was sight un seen on the new ITR which I did not want to do. I was asked them, what if the car is f'ed up (it allready had 260 miles on it), and the dealer said, well thats just something you are going to have to deal with. Screw that, I'm not buying a car with 200 miles allready on it with out looking at it, what if they drove it in a hail storm while jumping curbs with it, i dunno. So I said screw it and flew out there.

Hey, I just picked up my R from MA and I live in NJ. Although it was only a 4 hour drive, not anywhere near your 19 hours. Did you drive that straight?

To the guy in TX that is interested in the R in NJ, where in NJ is it?

 

Yea i drove straight from the dealer to South Florida. Left at 1pm on Friday and got back around 8am. Sucked because I did not go over 4,000 rpm the first 500 miles and I did not keep a constant speed. I also got off every half tank to stretch out and **** and what not. I think some people were getting pissed off with me because I would be going 65 and they would pass me, then I would speed up to 80 and pass them, then slow back down to 65. I also passed the same car about 15 times because I was getting off 95 about every hour and a half or so. I was fine untill about the state of FL, then I had to stop for an hour and take a little nap. But other then that, it was not a bad drive at all.

good to see you finally got your car. A lot of people come on saying "hey where can I get an R I want one to impress the girlies" and then never end up getting one. Driving from PA to FL...that's persistence.

If I lived in FL I might do some stealth mods too. But I probably wouldn't remove the wing because it is functional. I push my car to my limit almos every day and I' glad I have that wing back there keeping my *** end in line.
