oem jdm HID vs. Audi usdm HID- Have we compared these yet...
There have been countless threads about OEM HID vs OEM non HID w/ aftermarket kit- Hands down the OEM JDM is better!
But with all of the people that have been doing the Audi projector/ HID conversion on the USDM front, has anyone done a comparison to see which has better light output, cutoff, color, and other characteristics? JDM HID vs. USDM w/ Audi

Not yet. But as soon as I fix one of my projectors I'll surely challenge anybody.
I think the OEM JDM HID will be better as bling goes because I heard its the same projector as the S2K and the S2K is just awesome.
One thing I don't like about the OEM JDM HID is the cut off beam. It goes far up to the left into oncoming traffic!

It has the same color as audi hid. It turns different colors at different angles. Very bright at night. It was about just as bright as my friends S4.

That it does. When I test the beam pattern against the wall, I can see a thin purple line at the top of the cut off. It is this purple like that causes the flicker effect

The purple line means everything. I had a CATZ kit with halogen projectors and it didn't flicker worth crap. I guess I coulda went the cheap way and bent the projector housing but the projector housing was like 1/2" thick!

Some people hate it- but for me it's all about the flicker
Pretty much all HID is bright, but the difference between a good setup and a mediocre one is the cutoff and the flicker factor...
That is why this time around I opted for the OEM HID in my second JDM conversion.

Ugh, I'd honestly prefer NO flicker. USDM housings get "flicker" because of the lines in the outer lenses refracting. Either way, I wish none of them would flicker.
I'm with soup on this one, I switched to HIDs for the light output, not for the annoying *** "look at me flossin'" flicker ****.

yes. However, the closest you'll come to said output/cutoff would be using OEM HID projectors (JDM ITR, S2K, A6, etc)

Granted the light ouput should be the number 1 reason to choose HID over Halogen, but one should also appreciate the characteristics of it or why spend the money- What are you driving around in caves...?
Dude, your not a ***** because you want your car to "floss"- don't worry about being tough, the flicker is the ****! I think there are some folks on this board who are too worried about being elite and staying away from trends that they become unhappy and don't just enjoy their car.

True that.

Huh? WTF are you talking about? The flicker is "the ****" in your opinion, not mine. Me? Elite? I drive a POS honda, what the hell would I be "elite" with in regards to my pos?
Oh, and how will annoying others with my phat flicka' HIDz going to allow me to enjoy my car more exactly? Considering I drive behind the wheel of my vehicle and not from the front bumper looking at the headlights and all.

JDM HIDs require the JDM Integra front end (kinda looks like a 94-97 or whatever year accord front end). Aftermarket HIDs will work in the USDM housings much the light output is not as nice and the cutoff line sucks. Audi/some BMW/etc OEM HID projectors can be mounted into the integra housings (with some custom work) and is, IMO, the best solution if you want HIDs with a nice cutoff line.
And for the stunnas, any OEM setup will have mad flicka y0!
