Default weird ZC or what?

Eh all, I just got my zc back from my mechanics place. It needed new rings. The 89 intergra rings fit it, but when replacing the headgasket and intake gasket the 89 teg parts didn't. He told me he had to use a 85 integra headgasket and a 95 delsol intake gasket. Whats the deal with this? He also said the specs to adjust the valves were too tight. There ticking like crazy right now. The head got machined and the valve seals got replaced too, so should I just drive on it for a second and then readjust? I dunno, I just hope this guy isnt messing anything up.

Well, its not smoking anymore, but it sure isnt driving good either. Its hesitating bad from like 2 to 3 grand. (He said the distributer is gone). The idle is also bouncing from like 1500 back down to 750. This stops when you unplug the eacv (but then doesnt allow the car to go past 3000rpm). Would a new eacv fix this?

Anyone got a 89 teg dizzy or a eavc for sale? I need this thing running bad.

thanks

i went through 9 dizzy's with my zc. Your best bet is to by a brand new to you one from napa or someplace like that. second hand dizzy's never seem to great. I also had the same IACV problem. Welcome to the ZC life

alright thanks,
A new distributer is like $289. Would it be better to just get an msd ignition and not have to worry about it anymore? How much does one of those run?

anyone know why the 89 integra headgasket wouldn't work although everyone with this engine and the internet says that what it takes?

Its a black cover ZC with ZC stamped on the block along with an 88.

he said it sealed to the head, but wouldnt seal to the block properly. Its already back together and running with the 85 integra headgasket, but I just dont want to run into any problems because of this down the road.

well if your gonna go ahead and take the plunge get the Electromotive distributorless ignition system. or just get a Tec II or III. In the long run it would be worth the money and if you switch engines you can use it on the new engine. It would have been worth it for me.
