Default Wanted::Your Reviews on DA Integras

I want a feel of how good of a car they are, I've read reviews from edmunds, etc but wanted H-T's opinion on them.

How well do they handle?
How well do they accelerate?

Basically, just an overall opinion on the car. GS Hatchback, thanks!

not sure about the DA but I have the DB 93 gsr with the B17a and it's wonderful. Love the car, handling, speed, everything. Driving one of these are so much better than a DC, but that's only my opinion.

well my friend have own alot of DA integras and i own one myself for the last 6 years here are some things i can say
THE GOOD
- One of the best looking Acura/Hondas ever
- very stylish but basic interior (espeacialy leather and gsr interiors)
- handles good
- very cheap to find used 90-93 2,000 to 7,000
- gsr models are more rare than INTEGRA TYPE R came with B17a stock with one of the best trannys honda made ys1 gsr tranny (short geared like the itr )
- Great gas mileage with decent horsepower for all rs,ls,gs models and best with gsr
- Fun cheap used car that can be moded and pretty quick
-Very reliable
- any b series motor can be put in very easy making a pretty fast cheap car
theres a lot more GOOD things about the DA s but i wont keep on talking about them

BAD THINGS
- the brakes suck warp easy
- not that many aftermarket parts for a DA compared to DC<EG ect
-lots of interior noise and wind noises (compared to newer integras or civic )
- no supercharger kits availble for DA and very to little turbo kits made compared to other hondas

i could go on but this is one of the best honda/acuras u can buy go to http://www.G2ic.com for more info

Mine has been good to me over the last 2 and a half years, haven't had and problems that i haven't caused myself
No idea about acceleration for a GS, mine came with a B16 but 92lsr was right about the shortage of aftermarket parts for the DA

Almost 2 years with mine already... no coplaints exccept like a few people mentioned. Not a whole lot of aftermarket selection. It still accelerates quick like after 190xxx miles too.

im currently on my 2nd g2 integra, i had a 4 door but got totaled by a keyspan truck, now i have a 2door. cars are lots of fun to drive, not to mention that they are pretty light. as of now i have ITR shocks with skunk 2 coilovers, IHE, Clutch, and someother stuff. im also planning on running ITR front brakes in the near future.

Default I have 3 of them and they are all great

90gs
91gs
92gsr

no prob with gsr love the car
other than that the gs they dont breathe that well
so you need to get intake and exhaust to begin with
as for handling they are great
just be carful cause some of them have the leaky windshield
and the hot foot rest area...

Why do people put b16s in them? Why not just an LSVTEC deal?

I had a 92 ls I loved it. The only problem I had was there is not much room to work under the hood. Handling was great and they seem faster than DC. I think because they are lighter.

well most people go with b16a swaps beacause
- they are cheap no magor mods needed
- they want vtec and reliable
- there 1.8 have lots of miles and the motor needs rebuild or replaced
- some people will just swap a long block and ecu for 600 very cheap
- slapping a vtec head on a high mileage b18a isnt a good idea (kaboom )
- ls vtec can be very powerful but needs to be built right to last

the b16a has more potential all motor compared to the b18a but the b18a is a good nos or turbo motor due to the low compression of the motors
but the b16a in in a DA chasis isnt that grreat due to torque in a heavy car , b16a is great for EF civic /crx
here are the most common swaps for the DA
1 b16a swap 1200 for a whole swap
2 b20 crv swap ( getting very popular great torque good for ls/vtec) pretty cheap longblocks 600-800
3 newer LS b18b motor ( slight more horsepower than b18a lower miles kinda cheap ) 500-900
4 slap a vtec head on the stock b18a (not that reliable this way ) around 700 dollars for this setup 350-500 for the head 150-200 for the ecu and need the head to be tapped and speacial oil line 50
5 b18c (what i own ) good horsepower and torque lots of potential ,need gsr tranny or b16 tranny for vtec motors ,but kinda pricey 1200-1800 for a longblock +200-400 for a tranny and need vtec ecu 200
6 b18c5 or b18c itr spec (a few people have them in there DA im jelous ) best motor hefy price tag
7fully built motor for turbo nos or all motor i have seen all built in DA b18a, b17a, b18c
8 b17a vtec motor came in 92-93 gsrs great motor and trannys ( heavy price tag since so little made and most have high mileage )
9 b16b ctr motor ( heavy price tag no enough torque for the DA for the same price you can get a b18c5 )

this is just my personal opinion that ive known with DA and reading many articles ect hope this helps
