Default New CF Hoods - Some Picts For Yah (Sorry 56k'ers)

Lines up with fender really well

Lines up on both sides

No gap/over-bite up front

So far, it's been holding up to some 80+ mph freeway driving

Clean semi-rolled edges

Just some picts of the new CF hoods that we're carrying and selling. Not bad for an "under $300 CF hood" and I'll be getting one for my EK and DA, so I'll have picts for those up shortly. Enjoy.

Oh yeah... sorry, forgot to add -- we're now carrying the hoods now and they all come with holes already pre-drilled (well, this one did) for the windshield squirters, and pretty much all Honda models are available (well, pretty much all except for the old, old skool models, no EF ZC or EF SiR models, and no 02+ Si just yet). Yes... same price for all of the hoods, but $10 more for Prelude & Accord hoods (dunno why, but that's what they gave us), and the more "popular" hoods, like the EG & EK hoods, like to sell out faster and are on back order more often .

BTW, I posted up in another forum some picts of the EG CF duckbill wing that we also have.... same company that makes the hood so you can get an idea of how the weave and fitment looks - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=520050

It should fit the 4-door EG cars just the same. I say that because the hood that was originally on the red coupe there was from a maroon EG sedan, so there's no difference in the hoods from what I can see... only the corners, bumpers, fenders, and mirrors. Even the rear bumpers between coupes & sedans are the same (because the rear EG coupe/sedan lips we sell fit on both).... go figure.

I'm actually working on that on our website right now... should be up this weekend (in the "specials" section) so you can check there in a day or so.

lets have some better shots of the weave... maybe some comparison between yours and the VIS?!?!?!
That latch looks very sturdy!

Honestly, I need a better digital camera to take picts of the weave. My Canon Elph Powershot S200 takes great picts, and is nice & compact to take places, but really doesn't do to well on extreme close up picts (if somebody out there has the same camera and can give me some advice, please do), but the weave between the two looks almost identical..... the VIS weave looks almost further apart while the "JDMshit" brand looks closer together. Check out my other post on the CF duckbill wings... VIS versus the same brand for the hoods and that should give you some idea - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=520050

Newman, the cf spoon style mirrors.. are they real carbon fiber? Also do you have a closeup of the weave?

umm. just to let you know before you have unhappy customers. 92-95 civics.... 2 door and 3 door (coupe and hatch) hoods are the same. everything up front is.. the 4 door sedans. hoods are about an inch longer. i know this from experience. i drive a 94 hatch, my girl drives a 95 4 door ex. just to let you know... 2/3 door and 4 door are different. corners, bumpers, hoods, fenders, none are universal. the lips might be though?

and im not sure how the fitment is between coupe and sedan for the ek? just to help you out. nice looking hood by the way. only thing is... good to about 80mph.. most of us go A LOT faster than 80mph at one time. and what is up with "semi rolled" edges? can you see where the plies meet on the edges? looks like all of that fiberglass framing underneath would make it heavy. fiber images has just an outer shell... they are light as crap.

Yes, they're all real CF... mirrors, wings, lips, hoods, etc. My Canon Elph Powershot S200 kinda sucks at up-close picts of the CF weave unless I'm under the right light, so if anyone has some tips for me, I'll take some good picts of the weaves on the hoods, wings, mirrors, and lips.... but they look at the same. We should have some picts on our website, or on other threads that I've posted on Honda Tech already of the other CF products.

Check your PM. Since you're on the West Coast, shipping isn't too bad, butt if you're in the Mid-West or East Coast, then shipping costs a little bit more. PM me for exact shipping costs to your area.

Didn't get a chance to weigh this one, but feels around the 12-20 lb range (yeah, big range) but I have a DA hood at the shop for my daily driver.... doubt I'll keep it , but I'll weigh that as they're all around the same weight.

If the coupes & sedans are different, then I'll find out, but I only say and go by with my own personal experiences and with what I've worked with, and our shop's EG coupe had a sedan hood on it originally. As for going "A LOT faster than 80mph" well, most of us don't on the freeways, but with any CF hoods, it's always wise to use hoodpins or hood locks (as I have on my hatchbacks) but the Civic is our shop car that we do pick ups with so if the latch breaks under normal driving conditions, then it'll be worth it to us so that we'll know the integrity of these latches with our own experiences and abuse behind it. The edges are rolled. I say "semi-rolled" because I consider the duckbill wings to be rolled edges, as they very thick looking, and hoods to be semi-rolled. But if you want to be percise about it, yes, these hoods have rolled edges and are not straight cut.

We're located in sunny LA. PM me if you have any questions.

I should have some picts next week of a DA hood and EK hood on my cars.... don't know if I'll keep the hood for my DA since it looks like it won't go well with my color/wheel scheme but I'll put it on just to take picts and to see how the fitment is on it.
