94+ GSR in SCCA EP Solo II?
The 94+ Integra currently can only run as a NOC (not otherwise classified) in EP. Is there any chance SCCA would classify it in EP? They currently allow the SI and DelSol with 16B to run with stock FI or restricted carb sizing. My car is currently a medium DSP, decent suspension but only bolt-ons on the motor. Seeing what would be needed costwise to get to the limit of the class would buy a pretty nice prepared class motor. Plus given the emision requirements in NY, just removing the cat could make it uninspectable and thus a trailer queen. If I'm going to tow, why not make it really unstreetable!
I'm just not sure how the comp board would respond to a request to classify the car, some of their rulings and ideas make no sense to me.

If the EP rule says something like 87-01 Integra NOC, then it already does go there. NOC = not otherwise classified. They usually do that when an upper trimline Si or R or something goes to one class, then the rest of the line goes another. This keeps the SEB from listing the GSR, LS, RS, LS-SE, etc. Just put NOC and it takes all trimlines besides the one that is already separated and classified.
SO build your car if you want for EP and go have fun. Let me start by warning you about an EP ~1500lb 85 Civic driven by a 13 time national champion
The GSR is a good DSP car. You might want to build it to those rules if you want to get serious and think about winning.

Current rulebook has pre 89 on one line and 90-93 on another, each with specific limitations. The rest go under 3.0 liter and under sedan NOC. All the cars in NOC can only compete in regional events, not national or divisional. Unless I trailer my car, I am not willing to remove the AC or cruise or radio, or even the hitch to tow my race stuff, oh yeah and the roll bar. I'm not looking to be nationally competitive, don't have the budget in time or money, or skill level either. I do still want to be able to go to a tour or divisional every year or two. I run the car in autocross and drivers schools and after a few "incidents" am giving serious thought to the intelligence of driving the car to the events. Note: do not try EBC Red pads at Pocono. When they delaminate, you have no brakes and the access roads that cross the infield are very hard on the header, oil pan, and radiator support. I drove home from that one, but a little harder hit and it would have been a 6 hour towtruck ride home.
Basically I'm thinking about what to do with the car if I elimnate street drivability as a need for it. Street Mod is out due to the tendancy of forced induction Hondas to blow up on the track. A fully built DSP is not that much faster than it is now and would not be that much faster on track, all assuming a driver of equal skill of course. The weight reduction in EP would allow it to be much faster both in autox and on track even without a built motor.
Just some of the thoughts kicking around in my head along with the supercharged Golf, mid-engine rotary powered CRX, or just go back to stock class where I don't have to think as much about the parts the rules don't allow changes.I like to keep my options open and plan far enough ahead to not have to do things twice ie: build a DSP motor and injection like Matt and then maybe decide to change classes.

Write a letter I am sure there is a very good chance you can get the G3 classified. Bring it to EP, have some fun, you wont be sorry. I was in the same situation with my second generation Integra, D/SP in Western Canada allowed many more modifications then SCCA D/SP rules, now EP is where I play.
Here my EP kaa.
Stripping out the insides to bare metal is fun, and effective.
It improves all aspects of performance.
Minimum weight is determined by engine size,(cc x 1.05), but not below 1600lbs.
In fact I can't decide if I want to keep the d15 and run minimum weight, or plop in a D16 and weigh 1675.
And don't forget the slicks. Mmm slicks.
