Ok so am i right or wrong on this
I saw a dyno graph that gave a 00 ITR
197hp/133 tq @ the wheels and this was their setup
Toda Racing Spec B Intake and Exhaust Camshafts
Toda Racing Cam Gears
Toda Racing Oil Pump Gear
Toda Racing High Power Clutch Kit
Mugen 4-1 Header
Random Tech Catalytic Converter (modified to fit larger JDM flange)
AEM Intake
Mugen (~2.36" dia) twin-loop muffler & USDM Mugen (60mm only) B-pipe
my ? is that replacing the cams, cam gears, intake, exhaust, is a goodway to reach it but for a daily driver its totally not practical right? I'm sure the cams are more aggressive therefore killing MPG...or are there people running this (or similar setups) in their daily drivers??

Cams don't kill MPG. Some report better mileage actually. If you want a more practical easier to use/tune camshaft that idles well, try the Spec A cams. They work very well for folks and most have been pleased with their performance increase especially top end power. If you don't mind lumpy idle and have the budget to support some of the other things necessary, go for the Spec B's or C's. You'll be very happy and yes you can use everyday.
I get 28-29 MPG with mixed driving with my Spec C cams, all highway I get about 31-32 mpg, depends if my cruising @ 80 or 85mph
As for idle, not bad at all, a little lopy but very livable for my daily driver.
But as Dan said, for the plug and play, get the Toda Spec A cams, nice jump @ VTEC and like stock idle.

ah-ha...so i plan on getting new headers (spoon 4-2-1) and i recently got the aem cai...so then I'd get the Spec A's and that's it? No cam gear replacement?
What do cams actually do? They just retard/advance timing so vtec kicks in earlier/later basically?

Personally I would get the cam gears to fine tune your powerband, and since your in there, I would also get titanium retainers which can be bought for around $200, great insurance for the money
Cams basically will let more air into your engine...like your AEM, while the header will let more air out. In a nutshell more air in and out, mixed with the correct amount of fuel will give more power.
