Gunk under valvecover? Possibly condensation?
First off, I own an 88 CRX Si that is used only as a racecar. Rarely started. Probably started it 5-10 times in the last couple months. Recently I noticed water coming out of my exhaust. The water is COLD, even when the motor is completely warmed up. The more you rev it, the more water comes out. The headgasket is new, torqued down to specs. Did a compression test, 195-200 across. I checked the oil and there is no water/water wetter in it. I then pulled the oil cap and noticed the milky residue that is common to a blown headgasket. So I pulled the valvecover and noticed more of this on the underside of it. However, the residue isnt in the oil in the head. Just on the valvecover. Anyone think that maybe it could just be condensation from the motor just sitting most of the time? I have heard that this happens to alot of racecars, not sure why though. Maybe condensation/water gets trapped in the exhaust? Anyways here is a picture of what the valvecover looked like when I pulled it. Motor is a d16a6.\

ive had that same **** too. i got a head from an 88 4wd wagon d16a6 to port and put a cam in....and it had that white **** under the valvecover when i pulled it from the junkyard. but the head was extramely clean, not stained brown like most are...including the head i was running origionally. i ran the new head for a while to break in the cam, then when i adjusted the valves like 2 weeks later it had that white crap under the valvecover. ive been running it for about 3 weeks now and havent gone through a drop of oil or coolant. so i am guessing its from sitting too. but when i let the origional head sit for extended periods in the winter it never creamed itself. wtf?
water is supposed to come out the exhaust...its a byproduct of combustion.

Well, that makes me feel a little better. My car car hasnt been going through coolant and doesnt burn much oil at all. But it makes me wonder why some cars expell more water than others. It cant be healthy for this to happen. Gues only the leakdown test will tell me for sure.
