It doesn't look good!!From the Imaging
Resource site.
"UPDATED 2001-07-13 18:56ET: During the
course of the day, we've seen rumors (and we'd
stress that word) attributed to PhotoPoint
company officials stating that the situation is in
the hands of lawyers, and that the site may
switch ownership, or may not come back at all.
We have however spoken to an anonymous
source close to the company who has told us
that PhotoPoint's San Francisco office will be
closing entirely, but the Pantellic office in Nova
Scotia will remain in business. Because the
servers themselves are managed by Pantellic,
we expect them to be back up shortly as per the
voicemail we mentioned previously. What this
means overall for PhotoPoint's photo-sharing
and photofinishing services, however, remains
unknown."

my buddy said they are out of business...he has since verified this...they collected all of the money from people paying for their service and they flew the coop...
It sucks, but it's the truth!

he said he used the service enough to warrant spending the 20 bucks and then he found out they are out...they might have filed chapter 11, but they did claim lots of cash just before they bowed out...
anyway, he filed for a chargeback on his CC

if you paid by credit card, just dispute the charge...get the last laugh...they are the ones that have your money right now

Sounds more like a class action suit.. Sounds like you didn't get your money's worth.. But then again. If their bankrupt, I guess you'll never see your money back.
Damn...and I just upgraded my membership as well...guess its time to call AMEX and reverse charges...now to find all the damn pics that were uploaded there...
If they filed for protection, you can't sue them, and certainly not for what they are charging for service. Waste of time, chalk it up to experience, and move on. I too paid for their service: $9.00, which isn't bad at all. Though one or two of those pics, I can't replace. The rest I have on CD.
