Hi,

My friend has just finished installing a drag gen 3 onto his 96 spec JDM ITR.

He was previously using a Data System VTC82x.

Should he continue using this vtec controller or is it better not to change the vtec crossover point when running a turbo?

If you make more power and all with changing the VTEC point then change it.
I am not sure what the"Data System VTC82x" is, but a hondata with boost control is probably the best bet to go.
you will probably get e better response in the Forced Induction forum

 

or you can run a vafc hack for the elcheapo route.

i agree with GRAVITY, i say if u r gonna do a turbo on an itr do it right get the hondata!!!! i am

 

heres mine....its okay...don't really use it much any more...but its a good one touch system...I use it to disengage my vtec sometimes to troubleshoot.

You kidding?!?! I'd be lucky to hit 200km nowadays!! damn turbo makes the engine drink gas!!

you sir need tuning.
On 900cc injectors im seeing about 220mi/350km to each tankof gas.

There is also that new Greddy Profec-e which is a boost controller, and if I'm not mistaken also has a Vtec controller....and a whole slew of other cool options as well....if you're not looking to spend anymore money on fuel management, it's a good way to go, just keep in mind that it won't do your fuel maps and timing, you'll still need to retain your current fuel controller....
