How high does you B16a idle on a cold start?
When I first start the car, It idles at 1500 -2000 rpms, for about five minutes. then It kicks right down to 750-800, I have no problems. I was wondering if anyone elses does that. I know that it will idle high on a cold start, but 2000 for five minutes seems like a bit to long for me,,,,,,On my old 95 civic EX it would idle high on a cold start, then if I tapped the gas it would drop right down, My b16a crx does not do that, If I tap the gas it will just stay at 1500-2000 untill it gets hot enough? anyone, is this a problem, what to do?

no it shouldn't drop down.. mine does the same.

Mine takes a bit to go down on cold starts too, but my fan is constantly on so the engine takes longer to warm up.
Mine idles at 1500-2000 rpm when cold... when it's *almost* warm it will bog a little and go under 750, but when it's fully warm it idles solidly at 800 rpm
I've found that turning down the fuel pressure a little eliminates the cold idle bog, but it also hurts power a bit when the car's warmed up

my b16 idles at about 1800-2000 for the first 60-90 seconds, then drops down to about 1200 for another 30 secs then goes down to about 800.
I dont let it bother me, I havent had anything bad come out of it yet so...

Unscrew it til you see threads, blot on a little Hondabond or RTV silicone, and screw it back in while wet. It'll cure in the threads and stiffen up the screw.
Mine idles aobut 1500 then drops to wherever it feels like. Sometimes 400-500 RPM.
Our cars idle high so long to warm up the O2 sensor, it's only a one wire, so it doesn't have a heat source besides the engine's exhaust.

Mine idles at 2000-2200K RPM's until it warms up (2-3 min idling) and then it drops to a steady 1000K RPM's.
Everyone says to NEVER REV a B16 when it's cold. Anyone care to share why?

it causes blow by. since when the pistons are warmed up they expand so when theyre cold their is a lot of room between the piston and the cylinder wall. when you rev it up more air and fuel will get by and go into your oil. this is a problem on all engines not just a b16.
u should never rev ANY engine when cold (~90% of engine wear happens in first 10 mins) just GENTLE driving wen cold if u want it to last and be quick. All honda injection engines ive ever come across rev @1500rpm till warm, NO MORE. it could be mod's causing it or knackered idle air control valve/throttle body or just out of adjustment
I adjusted mine to idle at 1100'ish cos the damm thing was all over the place when i fitted my fidanza flywheel, still got a pretty smooth idle though.
But 1500 is normal when cold unless it's really cold then it can get close to 2000
