Default RSX-S Injen Intake Install

Buddy has an Rsx-S and wants me to install his injen intake for him, but I have no experience with K series motors. Just wondering if anyone could tell me the ease of installation, how long it took, and any problems to watch out for.....a short walk-through on how to do it would be appreciated.....Thanx

it is really easy...make sure to angle the new intake away from the rad hose...if that makes sense???? the rad hose goes right under the intake...if angled improperly it will rub...thats the only thing I would watch out for...other than that it should only take you about 30 min.

This is a real simple install. Just unhook the top of the stock air box to get easier access to the three bolts that hold the stock air box on.

Unlatch the tube that connects the air box to the throttle body. You will need a phillips screw driver to unscrew the bolt. After you have the tube removed make sure you re-use the silver ring to connect the new intake to the throttle body ( injen does not include a new ring for you).

Now to remove the stock air box there are three bolts( 10mm I think) you may need an extender ( depends if you can get your hand down there, I have fat hands so I used my craftsman tool set which included the detachable screw driver that can hook up to the 10mm)

Now the screws are located in by these areas.
1. Near the throttle body
2. Near the header
3. Near the drivers fender

Unbolt those and the stock air box should come right out with no hassel.
No install the Injen intake and place new bolts( should be included with injen intake) with it. First install the heat shield and make sure you use the rubber mounts that come with it. This is to help the intake not crack on you like previous heat shields. After you install the heatshield go to work on the intake. Just re-attach the silver ring to the new intake and reconnect it to the throttle body again. Make sure you hook up the new hose's and make sure you reconnect the sensor to the intake or you will throw a CEL. After this you should be set to go.

Disconnect your battery and re-connect it and let the car run for 5 minutes. After this you should be set to go. Good luck
