I doubt it will be covered by warranty either...but can't hurt to try I suppose.
If you put it into second they'll know as soon as they take the head off.
Your valves are bent. They are $30 each but if you go to the dealership they
may warranty it. Just don't let them charge you $1500 to do the work.
It's just a couple of bent valves. Approach the mechanic and see if he can do it "after hours".
Hopefully you didn't damage a piston.
If you really want to try and fool them though you could advance your cam timing about 5 teeth and tow it to the dealer. Then they would believe the story about
how it just happened. They would think the timing belt jumped.

honda/acura have a great timing system where its next to but not impossible to get your piston to contact your valves, However you need to install a oil pressure gauge IMMEDIATLY before you turn that car back on. You may have spun a rod/crank bearing. In which case your oil pressure is going to drop and you'll get a squeal fro the motor. Your motor should show between 40-50 lbs at 3,000 rpm. If you did minor spin a bearing and you run your motor, your about to spend hella lotta money.
i did the same thing about 2 months ago. i was learning to power shift [stupid me] and i grinded and mishifted to 2nd. my check engine light went on, and i jumped the CEL codes and it turned out that my #4 piston was misfiring. changed the wires, and fixed it. you might have a bent valve. get a free check up.

Valves are about 12-17 bucks a piece for stainless.
As far as damage, you can expect to see piston valve contact. Chances are likely that the head will need to be sent to a machine shop to be re-worked for new valves. Pistons may be salvaged depending on how light or hard the damage.
I wish you luck, because so far you've done better than I. (If you don't know what i mean, check the link in my sig)

Sorry to hear about your luck dude.
It can be repaired but once that head is off and adjustments are made sometimes
the car is never quite as fresh ever again.
Just make sure to do a compression test after you get a mechanic to fix it for u.

if i bring my car to the dealer ship could they look at it without charging me i have a warrenty on it... i know the actuall work prob. wont be covered cuz it was my fault but would they look at it for free since i have a warrenty??
i really doubt that would happen. If they do anything at no charge, it'll probably just entail them pulling the plugs, and looking into the cylinders with the head still on the car.
Which by the way, is another way to inspect damage, but will not show everything. When you do pull the spark plugs, check if the ends are crunched or damaged in any way. It will show if there's been any major contact. Since you're car still runs, chances are that the plugs aren't damaged, while the valves are damaged.
My brother recently had a mishap with his gsr. While racing the motor, one of the exhaust valves end up having a small portion chipped off. I couldn't see any other damage to the piston, nor the cylinder walls. He got pretty lucky as far as i can tell. (didnt really matter much though, the parts to rebuild the motor for turbo were already on the way)

I did it in my dads 97 lude, it was by complete accident, the shifter is all weird like compared to the teg, anyway, the tach jumped up and pegged out but I pulled it out quick and nothing was wrong with the car. Still running strong
tell them the sells man said this type of stuff would be covered on your EXTENDED WARRANTY they sold you! and make a big deal and try to let other customers see you making the big deal so it looks like the DEALERSHIP is EVIL

I think you'll be better off to be honest with the dealership.
Tell them you can't afford to fix it. If it's under warranty they may pull some strings
and bill honda for the damage you did.
If you didn't do my cam gear idea..
BE honest. It pays.

they said i either hydro locked the engine or miss shifted so they wouldnt cover it under warrenty... i knew they wernt gunna cover it so i wasnt about to try to argue with them its my fault anyway
