Im sure theres tons of info about short shifters if you use the search link at the top right. but ill give ya some info...

I have used a generic short shifter from ebay for over 2 years. I love it. Only cost $20.

Just get some bushings for them.

You can go with more expensive ones if you want. People seem to like them also. But i have heard just as many stories about dc sport's breaking as i have generic ones. But jsut dont shift as hard as you possibly can and i dont think there would be a problem.

If i had to buy an aftermarket short shifter it would be the double bend gsr Skunk2 shifter. Very nice.

guess it would be stronger? i have some shifter i dont even know what it is (came with my auto to manual conversion) quite frankly it sucks i like stock ones better feels way more acurate, when i put it into gear i can move it all over the place while in gear, and its hard to shift quickly and accurately into gear cuz if u push to much it would grind any idea what kinda shifter i got here? or maybe i just cant shift properly? also it vibrates, makes noise and what not here n there

steel is better because it is a stronger material than aluminum. i'd go w/ the skunk2 shifter w/ prothane bushings.

The heavier the shifter the better/stronger it is. Also because it is shorter you can switch gears faster.

Skunk2s are good and around $100-$125. http://www.tornactive.com sells them for $105.

I heard the best short shifter is C's. I don't know where you can buy them though. Plus they are expensive maybe like $200??

I just recently put an "Ebay special" short shifter with Energy Suspension bushings while I changed my clutch out. Its been two days already - I've been breakin' the clutch in, so I haven't been driving extremely hard. But the Short shifter feels awesome!! I like it a lot. It's very direct, and it feels sooooo nice compared to before when I had a stock shifter. The short shifter is the same height as stock - I was surprised, because I thought a "cheap" shifter would look a lot lower than stock..but its not. The throw is shorter, nothing else.

i have an ebay shifter too. mine is also stock height, but shorter shifts. does your hit your exahust? mine did. i had to rig the hanger up to make the exahust hang lower by the shifter. mine doesn't have any bushings, just a washer, so it kinda sucks. i like the gsr stock shifters the best out of any honda i've driven.

I had a generic one in my 89, and I have a DC in my 92. The DC is much nicer, the through is shorter but not to short like my generic shifter. And a freind broke his generic shifter.

http://www.jdmspecperf.com has the C's short shifters. simply the best and the heaviest shifters out there. i had a single bend skunk2... i liked it a lot but the C's blows it away.

I hope it's the best... it costs more than $300! It looks good though, just wish I could afford one.

Skunk 2 Double Bend is what I have, I love it, but it dosn't sit as low as most people like. I'm also hitting my B-Pipe because it sits too low. Other than that its real nice. I would check out B&M also.

I have a b&M short shifter with some of the es brushings I would sell to you for 40 bucks. I have never used it, and it has just been sitting in my closet doing nothing. Good quality, good heft, send me an IM if you want it.
