How often do you flip/rotate your Toyo RA1's

This is the first year I've been using Toyo's and I've had a lot of melt-down with them. Moreso than I've had with Kumho's. After the first event, I had them flipped over to try to shift all the rubber goo back to the side it came from. After last weekend I think I'll leave them alone and run 'em this weekend, but rotate front-to-back. Just wondering what you guys with more Toyo experience do.
PS, the rubber worms sure throw them out of balance in a hurry. Good thing Les Schwab has lifetime balancing

the extra rubber that accumulate on the side of grooves where it folds over is nothing to worry about and shouldnt be the reason to flip your tires. btw, did you have your tires shaved? toyos still need to be shaved. i tried getting it shaved to half the normal amount for extra rubber, it still was too much.
anyway, i just flip em when i see the noticable difference of "camber" in the tire between the two sides.

They were shaved. I had a lot of extra rubber hanging off after the first event, so I felt I needed to flip them, but I guess I didn't need to. Just trying to gauge weather you need to flip or rotate after each event, or every other event.

That's what I heard from all you guys before I spent the dough, so I bought them shaved to 4/32 (more like 3/32 if you ask me).
FWIW, hot pressures (after cool down lap) last weekend were 37-38 front & 35-36 rear.

Hum, I am running around 40 hot front, 50 rear, w/ no problems, other than slight camber issues.. Maybe a 1/16" difference accross the tread..
550+ track miles, started at 6/32 tread for enduro, and no problems there.. (consistant 8-9/10ths driving)

I think you are running a little to much pressure. Try for 38 hot all the way around. I think you will get some more grip. You might have to adjust your car a little bit to maintain your rear tire handling. But your lap times should improve. Your present pressures show you to be sliding a bit too much.
Toyo's recommendations for the RA-1s are interesting.
14. General Proxes RA-1 setup guidelines.
Operating Temperature: 140°F to 220°F, optimum around 200°F
Hot Inflation Pressures: High 30's to Low 40's (psi)
Camber: -2.5° to -5.0°
Caster: As much positive as possible
I haven't been running that much camber, but will try around -3.0 deg next time out, just to see what happens. Anybody going to be at Summit with a probe pyrometer I can borrow?

Sure would be nice to have adjustable camber bits. I get what I get by lowering. Currently at just over 2 deg in front, and just under 2 deg at the rear. I'll try increasing pressure this weekend and see how they do.

John, it was recommended to me to rotate the fronts with rears every session. I haven't figured out a way to do that and maintain the hot pressures of 38 properly, so I rotate the front to rear every race.

Bonforte flips them every other race weekend... but he's picky about everything and he has access to equipment everyday. Some other guys will remount and balance every weekend...
I have to run 50lbs in the rear to get anykind of rotation, yea, it sucks..
I run -2 in the front, and am still eating off the insides of my tires..? Confused..
After the enduro, I flipped front to back, didn't move them at all for 3 race days, then moved left to right fronts for the 4th race.. Never have I dismounted a tire and flipped to the other side..

If you are wearing out the inside I agree with one of the previous posts.....check your alignment. Sounds like either too much negative camber or too much toe out.

well, that's not the problem, then
i am running a hair more than 1/8" front toe out (chalk-string-tape measure method) and my tire wear is great. and the car turns almost telepathically....
maybe its just a TANK thing?
