Default My car is totalled!!! suggestions???

Thursday night on the way home from dropping 1000 for a new ACT clutch and flywheel resurface I came around a corner on the highway thursday night and about six cars were stopped dead in the lane... the roads were too wet to stop in time and i rear ended the vehicle in front of me. as soon as i got out of the car some **** came around the same curve and hit MY car from behind at like 50, then took off, got no plates... no names... no nothing. ANYWAYS im getting completely screwed over, i just bought the car a month ago and still owe a good 8000 on the loan, and my insurance company will onlygive me about 5000 for the car. Any estimates on what a buyback would cost me? (i havent been able to get a quote yet) Would it be more hassle than it is worth?
The frame is bent on the front end, the rear of the car is destroyed, but the engine seems to be pretty much intact except for maybe some damage to the headers. the interior is fine, and some other components of the car survived such as the sideskirts from the body kit, the doors, etc. Any estimates how much i could get piecing the car out?
Any possible suggestions i would love to hear, im sure i probably just completely fucked over but if there is ANYTHING i can do to help my situation, please let me know.

if the insurance company determines one number to pay you, you then need to inflate that by including any and everything recently done to the car(low mileage is a plus in addition to a nice body/paint). If the damage exceeds 60% of its value they tend to total it. If you inflate the numbers by showing them what you have done to the car or comparing local cars in equal condition (to replace it) one of two things will happen one they will give you more or two they will agree to fix it either works in your favor. They I'm sure are pissed though because they will probably get sued from those other people you ***-ended. The buyback amount I would say would be around $400-$700...They can just deduct that from your payout and you keep the clear title. The way they work that buy back thing is they get like 2 bids from local scrap yards which usally equates to like 10% its value. Some insurance companys have deals with certain scrapers they only call....wish you luck...I just went through this whole ordeal with my Bimmer. I was the one ***-ended though...Take Care..

Hey man, I bought back my 1996 Accord LX with 29K miles on it in 1998 when a lady t-boned me. The Ins. Co. wanted $3250 at the time. My dad negotiated it down to $2500.

I wouldn't imagine the buy back would be too much for a 10 year old car.

Hey man, if you part out your car and you have an H23 motor with a DC Sport header on it..let me know. I need the A-pipe (downpipe) only.

Regardless of what you've done to the car, the insurance company will not give you more than blue book. This is one reason one should never pay more (or much more) than blue book for a used car.
