Default Poor gas mileage after AEM SR install on 99 v6

OK, I was having some problems with my gas mileage. In part city, part highway, i was getting about 17 mpg. HORRIBLE. And no, I dont have a lead foot.

I thought it was due to my spark plugs and a very dirty air filter. So I did the plugs first, and I was getting about 27mpg for pure highway driving during the day. Then I installed the aem SR, and I did pure highway driving once again, and dropped to 22.5 mpg, and this was all at night, where you should get slightly better mileage. What gives?? I thought the high flow filter usually helps your mileage

All of this driving was measured driving up and down the 5 from the Bay to LA

The hi flow hurst gas mileage.
Though some will contest it helps.
In the many accords I have had them put in as well as my friends, it goes down signifigantly.
I personally lost 30 miles to the tank with it as did my friend in his accord.

Well I also can say every mod I do to my Accord the gas mileage goes down too. I don't know but it seems like the Accords get pretty bad gas mileage when they are messed with. As for when you installed you AEM SR, when I installed my INJEN CAI my gas mileage really went down. But did you reset your ECU? Because now I have reset mine about five times and my mileage is starting to get alot better.

I've heard some pretty horrible numbers from some guys in the V6 but mods haven't hurt my I4, so I don't know where that comes from. I get 35+ out of my Accord. As mentioned above, properly resetting ECU would be first on my list of things to check.

i THINK(i'm guessing) it has to do with the ecu.. 94-95 accord comes with obd1 ecu which a pretty good ecu.. compared to a 96-up accord which uses obd2... ob2 can relearn its setting after modding the car which it sucks because you won't actually feel the mod that you did...
