I am looking at an EF with 140,000. Thinking about swapping the motor out after I save more cash.... and if I buy it.

When I got my CRX it had 140k miles, now it has 155k miles but I swapped a B16 in it now.

 

Buy it dude these cars run forever I have 269,000 on my d16 and I drive it hard daily. I plan to do a swap in the near future though.

both of my cars have 300,000 plus miles on the bodies, i have 80,000 on the motor in my beater. the only reason i pulled the motor was the tranny went bad and i wanted to do a mpfi swap. the d15 that i shot out had over 350,000 miles on it and ran fine. ooh, the last 100,000 miles that were put on the car were very beaten miles and only 2 oil changes in that time frame too. d series run forever!

 

man...d16 run forever...*word* but d15's i got 206xxx on it right now and its still running strong..i lovee it

 

not sure, but should be around 190-200k now on the chasis. only ~7k on the beast motor

 

95,362. The engine has about 80k on it.

 

204xxx mi on the body. And looking its part in age. Less than 10k on the zc since its been in my car, but who knows how many in other vehicles. Still runs strong, but has every creek and rattle imaginable. My next crx/hatch is gonna have to be the most pristine one out there. I don't care if I spend 5000 on a shell, its gonna have a perfect body.

My vehicle speed sensor blew up at 173165. Still runs decent though. Burns about 2-3 quarts be4 an oil change though.
If you are swapping out the motor then basically look at the condition of the body. Look for any overspray or any obvious body damage. If the car looks like poop, chances are it is.

 

196,000....original d16a6 never opened up. Maintained really well though. My plan is drive it till it dies then swap. But it wont die.

201,000 - head gasket needs to be replaced but i'm swapping in less then a month... hopefully and I don't want to put money into this motor... lol

 

ahhh... 188,000 on a D16A6... it fried oil, blew a head, and cracked a cylinder.... and yet it STILL ran... ARG!!! WHY WON'T THEY JUST EXPLODE!!! #$@#$@#@$#!!! NOOOO.
ah well.. B16 is worth the fumes of a D16.

Blk '85 Si had 55,000 when I got T- boned at an intersection.
Wht/Blk Si has 172.000 miles it's in very good conditon all around,
exceot 1/4 panel rust starting to get bad.
135,000 on Blk Dx + B17 light rust.
141,000 on beater no rust.
