Tanabe Exhaust
I love my Racing Medallion. I got it when they first came out.
Super street also did an article on it and on a GSR and Type R out of all the exhausts they tested it produced the most HP. This was way back when tho.
Now, I'm running a modified unresignated version and it's deafening. I've suffered hearing damage from it. LOL But it sounds awesome and when I first modified it, I felt the most amazing difference.
If you like a race car like sound and dont mind a LOUD exhaust, you'll enjoy this one.

Mine is loud as hell - tolerable with the silencer in. I've got a leak in it someplace though, and I gotta take it in for repair.
Performance is good. Considering selling mine and buying a quieter Hytech or Comptech setup.

Tanabe is way louder. Some guy in the next city over has a N1 catback on his EH Hybrid. It's not really that loud, prolly a good thing.
The Tanabe is also rebuildable, for you guys that didn't know that. The inner portion of the muffler/canister can be taken out and replaced with a brand new one down the road. I think you like take a bolt, stick it in the hole where the silencer bolt goes, and turn it loose. It'll come out.
If you have some sort of performance shop near by that has these exhaust on display. Go over there. Compare any of the Tanabe's to the Apexi exhausts. The Quality of the Tanabe exhaust is 1000 X much better. The welds are perfect and the steel used is very high quality.
I'd prolly buy my Racing Medallion all over again. I absolutly love it.

Most people don't realize that Tanabe came out with the Super series exhausts, so now it's the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion, and it's a lot quieter compared to the original. I like the sound, although some guy I know thinks it's buzzy
I had the Racing Medallion on my 00 SI and it was loud but the sound stayed the same. I have friends who have Apex N1 on their car and after a while it gets real poppy. I rarely heard a pop from the Tanabe. Just giving you one thing to remember. The Tanabe is louder but sounds much better.
I have the Tanabe Race Medallion (Japan) on my LS, and It was loud for hte first month or so, then it got quieter and more throaty. Its a lot better sounding then the N1 and its not as loud as Apexi is.. buttt, it does come out straight. Many people dont like that but thats just the way there made, if you want something that looks cool and is loud, get the N1. If you dont care how it looks and want a sweet sound, buy the Medallion..
here's mine a while ago..

I wish i had known about the super series. It came out like 3 months after I bought the original Hyper Medallion. I still love it though. I was exactly the exhaust i was looking for: nothing too flashy, perfect sound, with decent performance.

I'll proably end up getting the super series, I like how it sounds, but I also might get a Tenzo R exhuast, I like how those sound as well, it all just depends on which will give better results on an integra

def a quality exhaust. i used to rock the hyper med before it got jacked. id def suggest any of the tanabe products. very durable and well made. The racing med is hot. def a big fan of that...sounds great too..much better than an N-1. It is loud like the N-1 but i think it has a great deep tone..not raspy or ricey at all.
hey all,
recently bought a Tanabe RM of a guy with it running on a Type R. It seems to be slightly a different size (fits wrong). any idea why this would be? is the Cat on a Type R a little different than a GSR? (both are a 2001 car).
any ideas? I dont think its a big deal to get it fixed, just curious.
thanks,
YV

I got a Super Hyper Medallion after killing 2 GReddy exhausts because of material issues. The pure stainless construction Tanabe's Super series is awesome.
