Default buying a civic...

I am sure that something like this has been asked, but i am about to purchase a 1995 civic dx coupe. she has a lot of miles (252k) but still runs strong, no smoke or anything. Is there anything specific that i need to look for before buying this car that is normally a problem with high mileage EG's? I knwo that it has a minor oil leak around the valve/cam cover, but nothing else that i can see. no CEL or anything either, i don't think it smokes sputters or anything like that. The a/c is not hoooked up, either. I mean the compressor turns on great, but the belt is off the pulley. I have another car, but am just buying this one to try something different. I have never owned a civic before, but had a 94 accord about a year ago. Thanks for the help guys.

If someone can help me with a carfax, the VIN is

1HGEJ2121SLO44705

Mike

Well dont spend too much, what i'd do would be buy the car and drop a GS-R in there.

252K is high mileage.

Suspension, bearings and anything else that moves are most likely due for relpacement.

Is 700 too much? I have checked and loan on this car is about 1900. Does this cheap price negate any issues i might have? I also have a vtec head in heand for it, but i aknow i need a solenoid and an ecu to complete the swap. Is there anything else? I will prolly do a swap later, but need to get some spunk out of it now with minimal $. Thanks again...

700 is a pretty good price if the body is in decent condition....

I wouldnt bother swapping the head with that many miles on that motor.....

body has some dents and dings, but nothing that cannot be fixed. Hood has several small dents in it, but the right rear quarter panel has a pretty good one though.
