Default How many type r civics have you seen?

I have a complaint against these clowns trying front and say, "my car is a Type R... its faster than your Si." First, are there Type R civics in North America? Second, if not, Why Lie and say you have a Type R, when they aren't even here?

Thank you

There are a few CTR's in the states, but they number less than 10, so I doubt anyone you know has one.

Si's are slow anyways.

There are some imported Type R's... and the Civic Si is the same exact as the Civic EX, just built for racing. They have 16/17" rims, lighter seats, that kind of ****... but their horsepower is the same as an EX, so all of that is B.S.

The Civic Si is the "same" as a Civic EX? You're kidding me, right? How do you expect the EX to have the same horsepower as an Si when the Si comes with the B16A DOHC VTEC that puts out 160hp while the EX has the 127hp single cam d-series motor? The motor alone makes the Si a whole different car than an EX...

Ive seen tons of fake, Civic Type R's, Accord Type R's, Integra Type R's and even an Oddesey Type R. I think theres a few real CTR's around. Theres a yellow one in LA (was featured in Super Street ) and i know of a guy in Arizona whos got a white one. He picked it up crashed from Japan, and is re-building it.

If he was referring to the 5g Si hatchbacks, then he is right, but in this post, we were referring to the 1999-2000 Si coupes that come with the twin cam motors, so I just wanted to make sure the correct info was posted...

No, I don't agree, the CTR came with a B16B engine totally different, and to front like you have a CTR makes you look like an idiot.

only JDM CTR exist in US, those are grey import, usually for racing or brought by the army guys who used to station in Japan.....not many are daily drivers...also ITR can spank CTRs *** in a 1/4 or the track they are about even....

b16b vs b16a, 10.8 vs 10.2/10.4 compression ratio for b16as, cams with more lift and duration, B18C block, differently designed crank and rods, ITR type intake, 4-2-1 ITR header, race tuned stock ECU, LSD and 4.4FDR in the tranny, 26mm front and 22mm rear sway bars,, recaro seats, MOMO steering wheel stock, short shifter...

as far as Si Coupe, it sucks, rather have a G2 or G3 Teg RS which is quicker, more potential and much better looking...

I drove a JDM ITR and CTR as well as a JDM Impreza WRX STi, which my friend has imported to Canada....all are cool but much overated, especially the Honda cars....

Mugen, I think they are refering to the Candaian Si which is trhe same as the Ex here in the States. There version of our Si is called the Si-R

And Yes, callling a CTR a CTR when its not just makes no sense

Well if that's the case, perhaps you should of made your personalized plate read CIVIC RS...

Well some people do get the b16a's or b16b's or b18c'5s and then get the badges, but i think most people just buy the badges and expect to run 12's with em on a stock d16 hehe ive even seen type r geo metros. personally once i get my b16a im gonna get the SiR jdm badge from japan, i want to flaunt my SiRness, whats wrong with that, its my car. If people wana get type r badges for their dodge caravans thats their business we cant do anything about that, how would you like it if people told you, you couldnt get recaros, or type r cams for your car cuz your car wasnt a type r? If people want to look foolish then let them, we know the truth.
