adjusting valves

Default adjusting valves

my valves are clattering pretty bad. if i adjust them, will it make them stop?

if so, how do i adjust them? simple hand tools?

I know this has been covered before. Do a search. All you need is a flat head screwdriver, 10mm wrench, and a set of feeler gauges. It's better to have someone who's done it before show you what the right clearance feels like, or you may end up setting them worse than before you adjusted them.

Exactly you dont just pop the hood and do it if you havent before. Buy a Haynes manual. Dont forget about TDC.

ive wrenched on a car before... but never messed with valves. and whats TDC?

Just take your time or it'll sound like ****. The quieter you makes the valves=less power. The louder they are but not clanking= more power. Find a happy medium.

There is a difference between noisy valves and clanking valves. I think I've just been around too many Hondas.
