Help: just got CEL 16
i just threw a CEL code of 16, it says the prob is "Fuel Injector System defective circuit or unplugged / defective fuel injector", my question is where do i check to see if it is unplugged? and also, when i try to start the car, the motor cranks put the car wont start, could the CEL have something to do with it?
no mods to the car, it is completely stock. the CEL came on after it flooded at my work. the flood was so bad that i got water inside the car. could it be that water got into my ecu?
Yep sounds like moisture is causing your problems. try to remove ecu from right from r/side kick panel and clean and crc or wd-40 the connector if you want open the ecu lid and spray inside as well. relax it won't hurt anything and it'll displace the water. if you still have problems then it's possible ecu has already been damaged by the water causing a short circut but try to dry it out and lube it with CRC or WD-40 and see what happens. Good luck HTH

so spraying wd 40 on the ecu wont damage the ecu?</TD></TR></TABLE>
i don't know how oil would help.. i'd wait until more people answer, maybe using rubbing alcohol on cuetip to clean things up.. ---- but.. i don't know for sure
what i would do: take ecu out, see if water got inside... if not, plug it back in (this will aslo reset it) and see if you get the code again.

you really have to flood the cabin of the car to get the ecu wet.
its literally 2-3 inches above the floor pan.
either way, take the ecu out, and keep it in a well ventilated room with AC.

Don't use any oils in the ecu. Electronics stores sell specific electronics cleaner sprays that will not harm circuit boards or any other electronic components.
