Where is the fuel pump??? 5th gen
Hey, I tried to install the Walbro 255 fuel pump today on my 96 ex accord, but I could not find the damn fuel pump. There is nothing under the back seats, and only one cover in the trunk but that is the main fuel tank. how do I change it?00

but you dont have to drop the tank, pull off the carpet and cardboard in the trunk and fold down the rear seat. Very easy to do.

hmmmmmmmm. I took out the cardboard in the trunk, and the entire rear seat. All I saw was this aluminum cover that lead to the fuel tank. Kind of scary looking at a bucket of fuel. Can you be more specific as to where it is please?

When you pull it up, are you supposed to see the fuel tank? I pulled it up and only saw wires. Do I have to look inside, or is teh pump attached to the cover?

That is correct. I just got done doing mine. It was a PITA because the tank strp bolts were rusted. You definitely have to drop the tank though...
Be best to drain it its a pretty big ****. What are our tanks like 15 gallons or something? Just go drive out all the gas you can and sphione the rest if you are worried about sloshing gas very where.

Yes to both.
Yes to both.
When you drop the tank, all you need to do is lift the pump, change it, and reinstall correct? Nothing to do with playing with the fuel? Im not big on the fuel part of the car for obvious reasons.
By the way, how heavy is the tank? 2 man job?

Why not just use the drain bolt built in to the tank?
Its on the lower rear drivers side corner.
