Default which class would you rather be racing in?

I just aquired a 93 civic HB that has been gutted and cut up front, all for $300. I'm going to finally begin the process of a pro series car.

Would you guys rather be in the hot rod class or the all motor field?

I love turbos, but my daily driver's getting the turbo setup already...but then I think about it and I can't let the turbo feeling go.

I also love NA cars.

Would you guys be happy with an all drag NA car and a turbo'd daily driver?

paul, you have to finish a project before you can start another. I think all motor is fun and there is so much technology involved. What I like about it is that its all very secretive. But some of the all motor competetors will be going FI next season. Not saying who...hehe I guess running 130mph traps was just too slow. JK all motor guys, you have all my respect.

Turbo is kinda easy to get power.

It depends on what you really want to do.
How serious is this going to be?
Do you want to try and do this for a living ???

yes and No....

If you know me, I'm one of the most serious people in sport compact racing, I just don't have the funds to back up my mouth . I would love to do this for a living, but there is so much competition right now in every class, it's unbelievable that any of the lower budget guys are surviving(no offense to anyone of you guys). THis is an idea that I would love to do with others, but that's not gonna happen due to the fact that nobody in my area is as serious as me. I'm not shooting for too much right away when I try to jump into the pro status. I'd be happy with solid low 10's in hot rod or solid mid to low 11's in all motor. Then I figured I'll go on teh sponsorship search and try to improve from there on. THere is a big, big chance that my 4dr will get the knife one day also. Seeing that in the sstae it is now, nobody would want to buy it.

To tell you the truth, id rather build an all motor car. I think a serious all motor car is more impressive. Hell, the only reason i didnt build an all motor racecar is because im fat , i need boost to haul my big ****

honestly its getting to the point to where you cannot build a competative car without support or a HUGE wallet. i mean by next year, providing you can get it off the ground by then, you'll have the top 8 - 10 spots in the all motor field running solid 10's and 10 cars(or more) in the hot rod class running some form of alcohol/meth and running 8's. it takes a very serious group of people, sponsors(small or large) and alot of cash to come anywhere near those numbers on a weekly basis. you can run mid 10's in the street class for alot less money and you'd be 10X more competative. IMO.

Hmm Ron... im trying to lose weight as we speak. I know the weight is the only thing that is preventing me from hitting 9's in our All motor CRX.
If I was a bit skinnier... shooooott.. i'd be all over the 9s. eeeeasily.

hard choice but i say go will all-motor,seems more friendly to the smaller guys.Hot-Rod is at the point where you need big $$ and a crew to keep it going.....Personally,I would build something different like a RWD Civic(turbocharged) either with engine up front sending the power back to one of those new G-Force trannies and narrowed 9" or everything mounted out back (engine/trans)..then enter it in one of those unlimited the Pro Classes.

The only class most of us can be competitive in is sport fwd. I'm about to get my street car back to street class standards that way i can have some fun. Hot rod is just out of my league!! dont go all motor man. its just so boring to watch. just my opinion.

IMO, I would go all motor. You would probaly be more competitive because it seems that unless you have a major, major sponsor, it would be terribly difficult to run with the Hot Rod boys. Then again, the all motor boys(and gals) are averaging mid 10's. Whew, tough call.
