Default 5th Gen Bass

I know your thinking this is in the wrong place but I want to know how many 5th Gen owners with systems are happy with their bass compared to previous cars. I have a 99 SH with 2 Polk dB 12"s in a box with factory recommended airspace and polyfill pushed by a Lanzar Optiplex 1000 watt class D mono amp. The subs are firing towards the rear of the trunk. It hits hard as hell but the extended low end bass just isn't there compared to other cars I've heard. I'm wondering if it might be related to the design of our cars.
