Default welded diff / prodrive drag spool on street car

is this a rediculous idea, or is it ok to drive on the street with a solid differential? How tight of a radius can you turn before the car starts to hop around or whatever it does?

Yes,dangerous and not very friendly to axles.

I do it in my street turbo car, its not bad once you get used to it, but it is a little rough to make sharp turns. If you can handle an extreme clutch and pressure plate on the street and not complain, then you wont mind having a spool either, same amount of inconvenience.

What makes it so hard to turn?

Its like a solid axle....one wheel will make a tighter radius than the other on a turn....this is why most people use an LSD on the street...it makes up for the radius differences where a spool cannot

It's driveable, but puts alot of stress on your axles!

i also hear it makes it hard to parallel park...if so i don't see that inconvenience worth it on a daily driver.

Can you really compare no ps to a welded diff? I've never had power steering, but I can only imagine a welded diff. would make it worse. Now you guys are talking about an open DP; I think I would be able to handle that or at least an e-cutout.

i knew a few people who ran welded diffs on the street, but they just wound up breaking the spider gears everytime.
