CV boot installation!! need assistant
Ok the cv boot installation was a pain but worked out pretty well, it seems like nobody knew how to do this replacement so i guess that not alot of ppl on this forum knew how to do it, i assume...
It's really pretty easy. Just remove the axle nut and the nut below it on the opposite side. It's the nut with a pin going throught it. Lift and remove the hub assembly off the axle and use either a friend or bungee cord to hold it out of the way. From there, you can replace the outer CV boot. If you need to get the the inner boot just get a hammer and tap out the axle from the tranny to get access to the inner CV joint. While you are replacing you CV boot, make sure that you repack the CV joint with grease.
Are you sure? We has to replace one on a friend's civic and to replace the outer boot we had to remove the inner boot and slide the whole assembly out that way. Pain in the *** but much cheaper than paying honda 300$.
