Help with code on ECU
Just when I thought my car was running perfect
I drove about 1hr today came home turned off the car for about 15 mins, started it up and it was bit chocked up, went down the road and check engine light came on. I pulled over let it sit for 3 mins started it up again and drove for about 15 mins with no check engine. Got back home to check the code and it seems like its just flashing flashing, no pause?! Anyone have a clue? I know 1 code is oxygen content "dont know what that means though".
My setup is a ZC with a Si ECU chipped by Zdyne. Running a Greddy turbo. The check engine light did not come on during boost either.
HELP!

Did you reset your ecu, and see if the CEL came back on? If the light does not come back on, then it was an intermittent failure. If it does come back on, I'd find out the problem, and get it fixed.
First things first, reset your ecu, and see what happens.

if the CEL light comes on DO NOT SHUT THE CAR OFF!!! if you do, it will "clear" the code and you won't be able to read it unless the CEL comes back on.. if the CEL turns on, IMMEDIATELY pull to the side of the road when safe, aka side street.. leave the car idling, and check the ECU..
o2 sensor code could be a few things, could be a bad o2 sensor, sometimes if you start up your car too soon it causes your sensor to throw a code due to richness, leanness/whatever. You need to diagnose your problem. If you still cant figure it out i would call zdyne, chipped ecus can do some weird things. We chipped an ecu that threw a solid light that would not go away.

Thanks for the info. It may have been caused by the richness. I know the DSM 450s is making the car run really rich. And like you said I got down the block when it poped up.
I have checked the ECU codes before by turning off the car and turning the ignition on while counting the codes before. As far as what I have read it stores the code in memory.
If it does pop up again I will try to pull over and see if it gives me anything specific. So far is hasent poped up again, I know when my Dizzy went it would pop up with check engine about 3 mins into driving.

sounds to me like it was just a one time thing, as long as your car isnt running like sh*t i wouldnt worry about it. If you keep having the same prob, try diagnosing it bit by bit, make sure your getting right fuel mixture and everything is right, sometimes your 02 sensors get build up of crap and soot.

I have never heard of this. From what I know, the ecu stores the code in memory, and will remain there until you reset the ecu. You don't need the CEL light in your dash on to have the ecu throwing a code.
