Competition Clutch
Anyone here familiar with this company? I was offered one at a good price, but had never heard of them. Apparently the owner had principal involvement with Clutchmasters and Fidanza. I spoke with him on the phone and the product knowledge seemed to be there, but????????????? Help me if you can. Thanks.
yes, like you said same makers as clutchmaster but cheaper. I donno about the same materials or not, that would be good info to get. this reputable shop (InLine Pro) in VA just sell those now and are confident of their performance. hope that helps.
haha, i love the search command, i was going to ask the same question. I have a clutchmaster stage 3 and it has been a piece of junk since (defective from start, CM would not replace it because they said it checked out ok) and saw this thing, their strip series looks like a beast 200-250% over stock...thats pretty sick...but like you, i want to see if anyone has used it first

My understanding is that the owner of Competition clutch owned/started Clutchmasters and sold it. Competition clutch is his new company. I don't think he had involvement with Findanza which is (I think) a family owned bussiness. The only connection being Fidanza made Clutchmasters flywheels.

uh....get clutchmasters....if he had some sort of business deal with fidanza and clutchmasters, i'm sure comptech clutches and flywheels are pretty much the same from both companies...just re-labeled as 'Comptech'...with a heftier price tag
just got their stage 3 competition clutch with 8lb aluminium flywheel. I'm still in the breakin period, (40miles) but once the 500 mile line comes, I'll be able to drop the clutch and tell you guys how it grips and drives.
currently, clutch pedal is ubber hard to push in (compared to TODA clutch), very little shatter, which I like, and has a quality feel to it. I'll keep you posted once the break in is done.

i know for a fact that the CM stage 3 clutch rocks. I just got a screwy one where something was outa wack and the pressure plate never quite let go of the disk and thus royally pissing off the sycros by keeping the input shaft loaded during shifts... i sent it to CM twice, once i got a new disk, but the PP checked out OK, but it was the culprate. Anywho, the clutchmaster stage 3 will bark the tires into 4th gear if you beat on it and i am hoping that this competition clutch grips the same if not better due to the near twice as much clamping force. And who brought Comptech into this, that was not even part of the topic...

dropped the clutch for the first time today... I chipped 3rd! I never used to be able to do that with my TODA clutch/flywheel combo. I'm very excited with this upgrade, LOTS of clamp force, I'm fully satified with the product. shatering is left at a minimum, nothing like the TODA or CM ones that I've seen. this product gets a
from me. hope my experience with it helps.

Hey i just saw that you were from PA....just curious where from. I go to college in Shippensburg which is about half an hour from Carlisle where the Custom Compact Nationals were held every year before it turned **** this past May.
well, clutch is installed and mostly broken in. I went with the compitition clutchs strip series with the 4 puck sprung hub disk. Well, i thought my old clutch masters stage 3 bit hard, good god is this thing nasty. I is mostly streetable, but you can only slip it for a a second or so before it starts chattering like a bitch. But damn, I used to be able to bark 4th gear if i was shifting hard into 4th, but now, its like shifting into 2nd, in EVERY gear.....dash shaking, tire barking grip...its awesome. Now, i wonder how long a stock open diff is going to last under this abuse.

hahaha, I had to same problem with the clutch pedal being rediculously hard... I can promise you that it will be worked in after 500 miles. mine is back to a stock feel and I love it. it used to be a workout in a half to get the clutch in. I hope this one lasts longer than my TODA one, only got 8000 miles out of it.
