How many miles is too many?
I know for a car when you start pushing 120k(depending on car of course) miles, it gets alot harder to sell it used, but how many miles would be considered as the max for buying a used bike? Starting bike, but would still ride it alot.. atleast a year or 2.
Totally depends on maintenance and the owner. A well maintained sportbike will go 40-60k without a rebuild (assuming valve adjustment and other maintenance is done).
Generally people run them till their first valve job (Ducati's exempt) and then toss them because they're bored (around 18k), at which point someone buys it as a rat bike, forgets the valve job, and beats on them and leaves 'em in the garage sitting except for 3 days a year, at which point they rot away.
If it's getting over 60k though, I'd at least run through a compression test and intake vacuum test before buying it.
