Default accord V6 or 4 cyl?

im gettin rid of my 93 civic cuz i cant stand not having power winows, lock, steering etc. I waan get a 96-97 accord but honda didnt make the v6 in stick that yr. I heard that the 4cyl in stick is just as fast as the V6 in auto? Is that true?

Pretty much, yeah. Anyways, you get much better aftermarket support with I4s than V6s.

If you were to buy 98+ v6 comptech makes some stuff like SC, headers, and so forth. I4 does have more aftermarket support it seems.

Gee, I wish you could get a car anymore WITHOUT all those power accessories!! Can you still get a CIVIC without power windows, steering, power locks, etc? If so, is it the base of base models that comes with the tinniest tires, least potent engine, etc. Would be nice if you could get a Civic SI without the power accessories, or at least with the option of not having a moonroof. I've been stuck with cars with moonroofs for the last 12 yrs. Any car I'm interested in seems to come with the moonroof. I'd rather have the extra headroom that would be made available without the moonroof.

I'm happy with my '99 Accord LX with manual transmission (I4, of course, they didn't make V6 with manual tranmission at that time).

It's very peppy and gets great gas mileage (~ 33 on the interstate).

go with the stick. Autos take a lot of the fun out of true driving. Besides, if it is speed you are worried about and you have the money, do an h22 swap.

I wouldn't want a v6 Accord simply because there really isn't a big aftermarket for them......if I was getting a V6 Accord I'd get the new Coupe 6speed!!!!!!

Wooho - just found a 2001 EX Coupe 4 cylinder with 5 speed. Bought it on the spot! It was also a Certified car.
