rear camber washer trick..... got 1 quick question
look at this pix..... see the flat metal thing with a hole in it behind the bolts.....

has this car already been modified with the washer trick?
the reason i ask is because I was going to do it for my car (i have -1.6-1.9 degree camber in the back)... so i went out and bought some washers... but my car already has those flat metal looking things on them.... did one of my alignment shops already do this trick for me? or is it ok to go ahead and put another 2 washers on top of those 2 that are already there??? or should i just go buy another bolt?

Yes- you can shim the rear upper control arm out to make camber more positive. Yes, someone has already shimmed yours.

yea.... it pushes the top out (thus adding positive camber)......
anyway...... i did it already.... put 2 more washers on each bolt.... i also got longer bolts.....
another question.... how many washers can i add before it becomes unsafe? also, do i need to get another alignment since i'm toying around with the suspension or does this trick not affect the alignment

sup yall, one more question, can you do the washer trick to the front too? or is it just for the back only? also, where do you exactly put the washers? cause im installing new springs + shocks and will have negative camber and i dont really have money to buy a camber kit...anyways, help me out will ya?
I just installed washers and loger bolts a few hours ago. The safest # of washers is 4 (1/16). That's what i was told. I installed 3.

just curious where u guys get the 1/16 number from.....
every store i have been to measures the DIAMETER of the hole.... so 1/16 would be a puny little washer with a hole no bigger than half a pencil diameter......
i myself bougth 3/8 washers (3/8 being the size of the diameter of the hole once again)..... i also bought new longer bolts.......
btw.... u can only do this trick for the back as mentioned and i have pictures posted in the 1st post where u put the washers.... u would put them where those metal shims are in the picture........

i meant to say this.... NO store sells washer by the THICKNESS.... i am wondering where u guys get these washers....
stores sell washer by the diameter of the hole..... i.e. 1/16" would be a washer with the hole being 1/16" wide

I got it from InstantRamen from the G2IC board. Dunno if he's a member here. His kit is perfect. It saves you time and headache in searching for the right bolt and washer. The link is below.

i saw that too, but i am still curious where you people get the 1/16" measurement from....
i said it once, and i'll say it again.... NO stores sell washers by the thickness.... therefore, when you guys say get 1/16" washers, you are doing nothing but confusing people.....
btw..... i saw that kit too.... very good price if you don't have time to go to the store.... but i rather spend $5 and a trip to my local hardware store (3 minutes away) than $20 for the same thing......

Ok i'll stop saying 1/16
I just went with the kit to save me time looking for bolts and washers. When i actually removed the OEM bolt and compared it, InstantRamen's bolts were very OEM. It even has the unthreaded part (near the head). So i guess am happy. Came with instructions too and torque specs.
