JDM Shift Boot - Does yours stretch this much?
Hey guys,
I installed a JDM Shifboot on my GS-R shifter. I'm noticing the boot to be stretching a bit in second gear, or in fifth or in third. Is this normal? My GS-R boot was not like this. Does it have to break it in? Or is the GS-R shifter heigher than the ITR shifter? Here are some pics:
In second gear:
and in third gear
I think this one is in forth gear:
Is the GSR shifter the same as the ITR shifter? Someone please advise.
Thanks in advance.

Third looks fine. It looks like its just a little stretched. Or maybe its just the camera reflecting off your clothes.
PS. it looks like to change clothes pretty fast.

ya, thats what I'm thinking... thanks.
So anyone know for sure if the ITR Shifter is in fact shorter or the same height as the GSR?

No.
You have to push the ring down the shifter. It should show a little of the shift rod.

The leather **** clips into the boot, there is no ring to push down, and if you did it would just expose the black clips on the ****.

yes, this button is an eject button
. In the event I loose control at high speeds, I get thrown out of the moonroof.

U.S. 97-98 shift **** does not mate to JDM shift boot (You can make it clip on, but than you will start a thread and ask why the shift boot is stretched). JDM red-stitched shift boot does not clip to that shift ****. Its suppose to show a little of the shift lever. (Thats the reason the shift lever is chrome on 00/01 U.S. ITRs and black on 97/98 U.S. ITRs)

You cannot use the JDM shift boot with the stock 97-98 USDM shift *****. You need to get a new **** that does not have the clips...
