HMMM....What to do with $650....
I'm trying to think of what to do to my H23 with 650 bones. Check out my sig to see what is already done. I'm thinkin....put it all towards my exhaust system. I'd like to take it from my DC down pipe and go with a straight pipe right to the catback exhaust...getting rid of that shitty CAT converter. Or, maybe you guys have better ideas and opinions that I haven't thought of. I want to go All motor with my H23...so remember that when you're thinkin of how to spend it. Thanks for your insight
Tein Basic dampening system.
edit:: but if you're definitely set on exhaust, run a test pipe or hi-flow cat into a thermal classic exhaust. they are kick *** and sound mean as hell.
note:
more gain from a wide open test pipe, but might fail emissions
some gain from a hi-flow cat, better chance of passing emissions.. but then again there's always lazy shop workers.

Exhuast:
If you don't have to pass e-check definately go test pipe. And cat-back is up to you but I went with more of a sleeper set up (my sig). And just remember with that cat gone it's going to be ricey anyway.
Suspension:
This is where I would go first and then just get a test pipe for now until your stock rusts it's self out.
My sugestion:
Test pipe, HKS sport or apexi WS cat back, AEM power pullies
Peace

I'd like to go with a straight pipe..definately more power. Would I have to pass emissions if my car is a daily driver, when do they check emissions? What did you mean by saying it will sound or be ricey with a test pipe?

yeah, it was a joke, b/c you can't buy **** that matters for $650 bucks when going N/A except for cams

I don't want an H22. I want to build my H23. I want to get internals (pistons, rods, cams, springs, retainers...) but I can't find anything for H23's. Bullfrog makes cams for an h23 that claims to give 26 hp...riiight.
JE sells H23 pistons in 9:0:1 and 10:0:1. I haven't a clue what the different compressions mean. What compression should I go with to get the most out of my engine? or should get JE's H22 pistons at 9:0:1; 10:0:1; or 11:5:1. A lot of people are telling me to get suspension...why? when I'm going for power. Does it make that much of a difference in the ride...will I feel like I'm hovering over potholes and sh*t? All I see is my stock 4" gap between my wheel well and tire going away.

I'm with these two, you'll get more satisfaction out of improving the Prelude's handling then gaining 5hp

If you are only into drag racing...Then, yes I would just buy crap to make more power...
If you are into autox or Road racing..or just into driving around corners period, then suspension is definatley what I would do.
If It was me, and I wanted more power I would do some research on the H23/Vtec build. I'm pretty sure you could find a vtec head for less than $650.
As you will find...the H23 is very boost friendly, but the H22 has a load more potential and reliability in the NA department.
If you don't know what the comp ratio means, and your planning on going NA, you better start reading up..I'd start here.

I think I'm gonna go with exhaust...from the downpipe all the way back. I have to find a test pipe for my H23 though, which I can't find. I also can't figure out what exhaust would be best for N/A.
