If you are talking about the Blacktop ZC in the 88-91s then they wont work.

are the timing marks different on teh DOHC black top ZC's then what was used on teh D16A1? If B series can be made to work I figured something like this would line up better, no?

I heard they don't work, but I heard some B16A ones do work.

I have also heard that - I would really rather something designed for the ZC though so that I could line up timing totally accurately ya know? & I can't justify ordering something from Japan & paying those outrageous prices for a ZC.

The D16A1 cam gears DO NOT work on a ZC. The D16 cam gears are much larger than the ZC ones. I've had both motors, so i speak from experience, not from "what i heard"

Back when Skunk2 was Skunkworks they used to make adj gears for the black dohc zc. Not sure if they still do. Also HKS used to make some but I havent really tried searching for them. Worth a try.

Be more specific. The D16A1 cam gears DO work on the 86-89 ZC. I've had both motors, so I speak from experience. I do not know if they work on a later DOHC ZC. Apparently not. They will also work on the 84-87 Civic/CRX, early 90's Accords, and early 90's Preludes.

Maybe the D16A1 cam gears will work with a "brown top" ZC pre 89. But certainly not on a "black top" ZC. Order the JUN's from takakaira. 315 shipped. same price as you would pay for anything else. HKS no longer makes the ZC cam gear and availability is zilch. I have researched this to death. B16A1 cam gears will work and do work for many ZC owners. Only a slight offset problem where the belt rides close to the edge. Easily machined or leave it like most do. OR...just freakin order the JUN's for 315 shipped. Like a few of us have already done.

The cam gear for the black top is way bigger than ZC ones. They will NOT work, unless you get the cams and the right timing belt.

Well, JUN makes the cam gears and power enterprises makes the super strong timing belt.
