Coilovers
OK, here's a question...I did a search and I did find some results but everyone was talking about "adjustable dampers" and "sleeve style" coilvers...I have absolutely no idea what they mean...so can someone explain what the difference is, and which coilovers are the better quality ones, over crappy ones...i hear Skunk2 coilvers suck, but that's just what I heard...I was told the Eibach Coilvers (dunno what they're called...Sportline?) are pretty good...so...help?
True coilovers are a matched set, with a sleeved body shock. Most have adjustable height and firm/soft adjustments. Here's where you can get one (and see the physical difference) (the ones pictured will not fit hte Type R, I can get you the comptech koni's, or Tein email sales@diabloautosports.com for more info http://www.diabloautosports.com/prod...roducts_id=537
Sleeve style coilovers are made by many companies like skunk2, and ground control (ground control are the best sleeve type, and use eibach springs) They either work with your stock shocks (not as good) or with premium aftermarket shocks like Koni yellows, or Koni Reds,,, The sleeve slides over the regular shock and converts into an adjustable height version. Here is a link to the ground control and Koni http://www.diabloautosports.com/prod...roducts_id=610 http://www.diabloautosports.com/prod...roducts_id=305

it depends on what your future is for the suspension mods. If youre just a cruiser, you can just go with some drop springs such as H&R Sport, Eibach Sportlines, or you can get the sleeves..Skunk2, Ground Control. But if youre gonna track race or auto-x, you can go with the bigger setup. Springs+shocks can be a good combo maybe H&R's+Koni Yellow's...or you can get a lowdown setup such as the Mugen Lowdown suspension, the ride height is already set but you can play with the damper settings. Either that....OR you can go with the FULL Coilover setup, Tein, Zeal, Tanabe, A'pex, theyre all great companies and do the same thing. Adjustable ride+height. Hope this helps, and mayb some people can add to what i said.
