Driving Impressions - Falken Azines 205/50/15
Car setup:
'01 ITR - Zeal B6 (Hard setup) Front(4) Rear(3) - SSR Camber Kit (Front/Rear)
Well, I've had my new tire on for about 800 Km (500 Miles) and I'm just floored as how well my car sticks to the road. In hearing all of the rave reviews on these tires, I was very curious but wary as the stock RE010's are just amazing (in my opinion).
Over this past weekend, I've done some very spirited back road driving and I find the limit of adhesion I'm used to has been completely shattered!! I find I'm able to take some turns 10 - 20% quicker than with the stock tires. A
to these tires.
I guess this level of performance does come at at price, comfort over small expansion gaps is non existant. It's a much stiffer ride, but in order to perform, that's an essential trait. I have found that although it seems like the rear end of the car is going to step out on a tight turn, it sorta "floats" and hangs on, a very weird feeling at first, but once used to it, it's quite a rush.
Congrats to Falken for such a Rock Solid R&D program.
Falken's got my
approval!

Glad you like the Falkens, but comments about finding the limit of adhesion on public roads is likely to get you
here. Please find a track where you can do this stuff safely.
