what is the name of the honda 2 stroke motocycle?
CR dirtbikes used to be 2 stroke.
Also the NSR used to be 2 stroke. Nowadays the 4 strokes are priducing more power... The YZ for example is offered only in 4 stroke in 2003.

Are you nuts? the ONLY reason the 4strokes are becoming more popular in the dirtbike arena is because of the EPA.
2 strokes will produce more power per cc than any 4 stroke, end of story.
As a matter of fact they are going to be racing the 250cc 2 strokes with the 600cc 4 strokes this year. A 600cc 4 stroke only makes slightly more wheel HP than a 2 stroke motor less than half its size. The 250s are substantially lighter due to the motor, so they are more than competitive.

he might have meant that the 4-strokes are producing more power nowadays than they did before. which i tend to agree with. but, no, not more power than an eqivalent 2-stroke.
i understand that 4-strokes have a more user friendly power band and therefore better suited to the recreational riders. 2-strokes seem to be much more on/off with the throttle and thats it.

Reliability/powertrain life and ease of maintenance (lubricant in fuel). Also emissions.

Very light weight, simple powerplants.
Easy to work on. (ie: install new cylinders/pistons/rings in 1/2 hour).
Sheer fun factor. Breakneck acceleration.

The CR is still a 2-stroke
The CRF is a 4-stroke
Same with the YZ's

2 strokes are so friendly on tires. I hate replacing my tires after every track day it almost makes me want to trade in my f4i race bike for a nsr.
Are you talking about the 1982 MB-5? It's a 50cc bike (not a scooter) with a 10,500 redline. I hear they were pretty fast for the size, and since they were only made for one year they are definatly collecters items now. Here is a link to some pics if you are interested:

there are prob more, but cant remember right now
2-stroke will make more power than a 4-stroke with the same displacement
its less parts, easier maintenance, but harder tuning, and strict on 2-stroke oil
it usually requires more maintenance, and the throttle control is harder due to the powerband (usually starts at around 7000rpm to about 11k, 12k,13k, depending on the bike)

I hope you aren't talking about the YZ 250 mx bike, if you are then you are wrong.
