Default B16A2 or B18C1 Need help deciding

Alright I need help deciding to go with B16A2 or B18C1 Im selling my greddy turbo kit for my D16Y8. So I can motor swap my goal is to see hopefully high 13's all motor in a 98 civic ex. The car has ran 14.5 with the sohc and greddy turbo but would a b16a2 with I/H/E CTR Cam's and CTR pistons get me in the 13s of course i know that i would probably have to have a V-afc and some fuel tunning to get the most out of it. Or would i be better off with a B18C1 with I/H/E and what type of cams or what would need to be done to get were i would like to be 1/4 mile wise.

go with the b18c1 if you're going all motor.

If I go B18c1 is it possible to get 13's all motor? What mods will i need to have done to get the power out of it that i will need. Because for the price of the B18c1 I can get me a B16a2 with ctr pistons and ctr cams.

If you have the money, get the b18c... or get a H22a.... the h22 would get you the closest to 13's but it would be low 14's stock.... you might be able to break 13's with I/H/E but i doubt it with it in a heavy coupe. B18 swap would be fast, but not into the 13's... you would need to add some stuff, but not a ton. Don't even look at the b16 swap if you going all motor, unless your going to swap out the block for a 1.8 or 2.0 block...

there is no replacement for displacement. if you've got the $ for b18c1, why don't you save up a lil more and get the b18c5? that's the best for all motor.

Thanks for some info guys I guess this means i need to go B18c1. If I were to use a h22 would i be able to retain my accesories and woud i need a custom motormount kit? Ive heard that the wiring is a night mare to on a h22 swap.

You can achieve high 13's with the proper driver and some good bolt-ons and slicks.

I second the post from VtecVillain. B18C1 is the way to go.. I would go with the 18C1 over the H22 and the 18C5 myself. i am a diehard GSR guy all the way... Good Luck in the swap

ive got a GSR, it rocks ... but im not sure if i could get it into the 13's without a turbo, thats why im boosting this summer . but mabey with some slicks, and some major work it could do it.

b18c because it's the middle man:

not too expensive like the b18c5

not too torqueless like the b16a

b18c1, ive got a b16a in my coupe, an its fun, but i wouldnt reccomend it for all motor. being torqueless just isnt fun. get beat by an rsx type s with hondata, and a celica gts with bolt ons, an you'll be wishin u had that gsr. just my oppinion tho, not bashing on the b16's but youd need a lighter car to really have fun with it. anyways, good luck. im plannin on swappin a 1.8 or 2.0 L on mine

H22= 13's stock even in a coupe you can retain accessories with a bit of work.
B18c1= 13's with bolt ons and a VERY good driver
b16a2=uummmm..... no.

Have you ever seen a pro-driver go with a B16A2? That is your answer...If you go crazy and build the poo out of the motor and strip everything you could end up running 10's and with a tube-chassis you could run 8's or 9's.

Well I have a 99 B18C1 swap in my 92 VX. The motor is completely stock internally and has the normal bolt-ons. With the bolt-ons, flywheel + clutch combo, gutted rear interior and Azenis tires on HX wheels I ran a 13.7@102.3 mph. A basic bolt-on turbo kit in that mix would net me some low 12's
