SIR headlight question
i have a 91 hatch getting ready to install sir front end...
on one of the headlights it is missing the big rubber cup that covers the back of the bulb. Is this part necessary to keep out moisture and it seems to keep the crome housing stable inside the light. So if this part is a must does anyone have an extra or know where i can find one?

Hmm.... I wouldn't silicone it, or else it will be very difficult to change out the bulb when it is necessary. The rubber boot is a very specialized part that would be difficult to replicate. I would try to find another one from http://www.passwordjdm.com or a company like that. If not, you could always try duct tape.
i am looking for one too.. I am heading to the yard this weekend..you can probably use one off of a 92-95 civic.. they may fit.. or you can make them fit...
keeps the water and dirt out...

yea, either that or try 96+ civic, i was working on my friends car last night and noticed it had a rubber thing like that too...look into that, it might fit, or you can maybe make it fit.

i could use a balloon but the rubber piece actually keeps the crome house firm in side the headlight... with out it the crome rattles around

well the cover the inner housing, but protrude out where the plug would go...my suggestion is to cut away a bit of the rubber.. that is what I am going to end up doning...but it fits more or less....

Wow
Fobtions you got pm

actually there should be a metal clip that holds the bulb in, the rubber isn't meant to hold the bulb in it's meant to keep water and dirt out!! So if your friends crx caught on fire then you must have forget to put the metal clip on the bulb!!
