Default Has anybody shipped parts Greyhound?

I am buying a tranny, and the seller encourages that he ships it Greyhound because it is so cheap. Money is something that I dont have much of, so is this a reliable way to go? Frieght is about 3 times expensive.

my brother has had stuff shipped from Greyhound. Pretty reliable and good pricing.

If you want to ship something cheap, check out http://www.highwayfreight.com I shipped a full swap (engine, tranny axles etc) on a closed in pallet for a little over 100 from TX to Nebraska. Only took 4 days as well

UPS will take a tranny. We've sent out 4 transmission in the past couple of months with UPS, with "triple" sided boxes and lots of padding, weighing anywhere from 100-120 lbs (just need to slap an "Over 70lb" sticker on the box) and usually it costs $50-$70 via UPS ground, depending on the location.

i talked to Yellow Frieght (cause its local) and they want $120. And how often does a Greyhound go from Atlanta Ga, to northern Michigan. I think UPS or FedEX would be the best way to go. But I thought they had a 100lbs weight limit. This is a good 150lbs tranny.

Your biggest problem will be some of the neighborhoods that Greyhound is located in.

fedex and UPS both have 150lbs weight limits

You can ship bare blocks and vtec heads through ups and fedex.

Vtec head, complete is 100lbs

ha ha, Im goin with FedEX. i thought UPS and Fedex had a 100lb limit but i guess its 150lb. It only costs $60, so itsmuch better than a $120 frieght co.
